I'm not afraid to say that I believe this kid will be a star. No matter how many smart alecky responses I receive.
Any idea why he went gloveless? Odd since he was use to throwing with a glove. Working out in shorts shouldnt hurt his stock. Roll the tape and you can see a future stud qb imo.
He got stupid, He has won games and bowl games with a glove on and just because he trained without it for a month or so, he though he could throw without. When your under pressure, you go with whats got you there. He learned a hard lesson. My stock in him hasn't dropped because I have seen the film. I can't throw away 3 years of film over a bad day
Bridgewater could very well end up being a good QB. But you don't take 'good' with the first overall pick in the draft. You take elite. Bortles is better than Bridgewater in every measureable category. Bortles bested Bridgewater head-to-head in their game this past season, at the combine, and at their pro-days. He's bigger, has a better arm (accuracy + strength), better mental make-up, and has better leadership skills. There's an argument for Bridgewater being a high draft pick, but just not the first pick. Not with Bortles and Clowney on the board.
Correct. If the Texans pass on him then hopefully a NFC team grabs him. Would hate to face him twice a year.
what a load of bull****. every reputable draft source has had bridgewater ranked over bortles forever.. to the point that he and manziel were generally ranked far and away from bortles. the guy throws at the combine and has a decent pro day and hes a potential #1 now.. the ****ery..
Im rooting for Teddy. Infact...Im sure he will be the best QB in this class... Unfortunately, is he worth the #1 overall pick? There is no QB in this class that is worth that distinction. Yes, the Texans have a need of a QB. But just because you have a need doesnt mean you have to settle. For NFL teams, you rarely ever get a chance to draft #1 overall. The Texans in their young history have had a chance to draft 3 #1-1. David Carr was a need and we passed on Peppers. In 2006, QB was a need, but we passed on local Championship kid VY and went with Mario(results were mixed, but he was the most productive.) The Texans are fated with yet another 1-1 overall. Since there is zero clear cut QB that can distinguish themselves as the #1 overall, you have to go with the best talent available: For me this leads to Clowney. While this video shows some TB weakness, I think he is the best QB available this year... But dont think any of this years QB will do much of anything. I just don't think we should pass on getting a trancedent player in Clowney, for a 3 year experiment/project with one of these QBs...Rebuild the vehicle before you hire your driver.
If the Texans sign Clowney to go with Watt and Cushing, they wouldn't have to face him twice a year for long no matter who got him.
Because the "reputable draft sources" you speak of don't start getting information from actual NFL teams until after the NFL season.

Easy to say that now that Rodgers might be the best qb in the league. Im sure you didnt think he was worth the 1st overall pick as well.
I will say it once and I will say it again. Bridgewater's frame and game resemble Joe Montana/Rich Gannon's
