When was the last time a WR had a "fluke" year like Gordon? It's not knee jerk, you dont luck your way into the season Gordon just had.

The rumors of him being traded have stopped since they changed their GM and coach. I thought it was odd last year when they tried to trade him. He's a good receiver.

Brandon Lloyd, Victor Cruz, Roy Williams....

I'm not calling it "luck", but one good year is not enough to know what kind of WR someone is going to be in the future.

How does Matt Schaub being traded now affect the NFL draft order???

Texans - still unknown, but leaning to the fact that it may be Clowney
    Rams - Greg Robinson
    Jags - Blake Bortles
    Browns - Bridgewater
    Raiders - Watkins
    Falcons - Mack
    Bucs - Mathews
    Minnesota - Manziel

I've been going over the Mack tape again to see if I missed anything. He has his good moments and his bad moments. It seems like he has to play in space, if anyone gets their hands on him, he's done. A RB can chip him right to the ground. He has pretty good coverage skills. His awareness is spotty, sometimes it's phenomenal, sometimes he's completely oblivious to the blocker that is about to take him completely out of the play. He bends around the edge well and tackles can have problems with the speed of his moves if he cuts back inside but if the tackle guesses right of if there is a RB to help him he's out of the play completely.

He's a good overall OLB and should be a top 5 pick easily.

But yet Hopkins had a mediocre year playing opposite of Dre but yet you proclaim Hopkins will be a great receiver and is just as good as Josh based off one year.... You like to straddle both sides of the fence and pick whichever side to support your argument.

Don't know what the Texans will do with that 1st round pick but that 2nd round pick could be very valuable if they want to trade down and get more picks. Probably could get a 3rd and 4th this year or a 3rd round pick this year and a 2nd round pick in next year's draft. They could do the same with their 3rd round pick as well if they want to load up on more draft picks...

That looks plausible, I'd just swap Manzil and Bridgewater. I think Cleveland will go for the excitement factor for their fan base over the ho-hum effect of Bridgewater

Drafting #1 in each round could be a real trade down opportunity. With a pause in the action teams may see a player they really want and will need to trade up to get. The Texans could trade down a few slots in every round and load up on 5th+ round picks. Bring in a lot of players and let the cream rise.

Quite literally the dumbest reason to pick a qb

Not really, it's an entertainment industry. Winning is the number 1 way to sell the product but short of that, entertainment value adds to the owner's bottom line and that is the real final score.

This chart analyzes the over-valued and under-valued draft picks over 50 years. It's pretty easy to see that there are more over-valued picks in the low rounds and more undervalued picks in the high rounds. I think this indicates a validity for the trade down plan. However, you only get 53 players on the team so it's the total value that predicts success in the end. You couldn't have a whole team of undervalued 200 players and beat a team of 1/3 overvalued 500 players.

The blue line reflects the famous Jimmy Johnson trade value chart and the red is what this analysis thinks the chart should be.

No I wasn't suggesting on loading up on 5th round picks. I was suggesting getting an extra pick in the 3rd and 4th round which would give the Texans 5 picks in rounds 2-4 and getting an extra 2nd and 3rd round pick in next year's draft. The Texans could possibly get 4 extra picks just by trading down once in the 2nd round and once in the 3rd.

I really don't know what to think now. with the signing of Fitzpatrick, maybe we will still go QB with #1, or draft Clowney.

Well there's a chance that it could still be Bortles I suppose, but if not him, it'll be Clowney or Mack.

If we take Clowney at #1, that blows our chance at getting 1 of the big 3 QB's (Bortles, Teddy, Johnny). But we may still be able to get a guy like Garoppolo or (gasp!) Carr with our 2nd pick.

If you believe what a lot of people are saying about not much separating the top 4 or 5 QBs in this draft, we could still end up with Clowney AND our potential franchise QB.

For everyone advocating trading down and getting multiple picks, that's a great idea, but you have to tell us which teams would be willing to trade up and why they would be willing to do so with such a deep draft this year.

The thing is "not much separation" between the quarterbacks is a lot different than not much separation between Clowney and other pass rushers in this draft who had more than 3 sacks. This draft is full of pass rushers.

someone mentioned Atlanta really wants and needs Clowney, if you can get them to trade a lot like they did for Julio Jones, I think I would take that. Hopefully Manziel is there, if not someone like Mack, Barr, Mathews would be a great pick to go along with the added picks.

People need to learn the value of critically thinking about the sources of new information. As far as I know, there have been no leaks from over on Kirby. Everybody who says they know what the Texans are going to do is just reading tea leaves.

No real information exists. It's just layer upon layer of speculation and assumption, like one of those Pacific islands where hundreds of years of bird **** piles on top of more bird ****, resulting in a massive mountain of valuable bird guano.

Atlanta picks at #6...IF the Texans do trade down, they are most assuredly want a QB. This issue however is with teams in the 2-5 position that are a desperate for a young QB: Jags, Browns, and Oakland(even if they got Schaub today).

Atlanta must be prepared to offer the world for the #1 pick, b/c the Texans will not settle for anything less. That could very well be something similar to a Washington/St. Louis deal. If the Texans could net a 3 future first round picks from Atlanta, there will absolutely be a trade. However, the likelyhood for any franchise willing to mortgage that much for a non QB is slim to none.
