Harden shoots more 3s then driving to the basket now

Let's just be thankful where we are. We have surpassed last year's mark and still have a chunk of the season left. Let Harden cruise by till the playoffs. He will crank it up a notch with it being his 3rd year in the playoffs now. He knows what it means. Dwight will be the same and they should feed off each other.

 

Harden's shooting over 42% from 3 since the beginning of February, and over 26% of his FGAs have come from inside 3 feet of the rim, an excellent number. He's 3rd in the league in FTs made.

Not worried about his shot selection.

 

He seems to switch his game around what's working for him. No concern to me.

 

The numbers are kind of in his favour....

Since the all-star break, he's been scorching at 42.4% from downtown, attempting 7.3 3s per game.
He's down 0.9 FTAs, from 8.8 to 7.9 --> so clearly he's still attacking the hoop.

Plus his PPG is up since the all-star break, whatever he's doing seems to be working fine. Chill out!

 

I do see that he is shooting a lot more threes than usual, but I don't see any harm of it unless he is shooting bricks. Last year, he was so relentless in attacking the basket but that also lead him to have some ankle sprains and probably caused everyone on this board to fear the worst whenever he was down. I remember Harden rolled his ankle pretty bad a week or so before the playoffs and there was some talk he might miss the first few games of the playoffs.

He isn't totally reliant on the 3 nowadays, but I would like him to drive a little more than he has been the past couple of games. I just think that Harden knows that this team needs him fully healthy for a long playoffs run. Last year, we needed him to work overtime just to get in the playoffs, and that's not needed this time around.

 

This is exactly how he should play against weaker competition. The fact that his 3pt shooting stroke has reverted back to norm make this a no-brainer.

I'm glad he's adding to his game. Come playoffs relying on the whistle alone will come back to bite you. Proving that you have an outside game helps with calls defense spacing etc. happy to see it
