Good God whenever I see people think of Dwight as "only a minor upgrade" over Asik, I can't help but laugh. Just a laughably dumb statement.

@JasonCFriedman: Speaks to just how well almost every single Rocket has played that haven't yet mentioned CP or J-Lin. 19/9/5 for Parsons. 11/10 for Lin.

Can't wait to see the highlights. It looks like this was a explosive game.

I think the same too. It's more than a minor upgrade but it's definitely not major unless you are talking about star power. It is a major upgrade only when Asik is counted as a backup.

    Dwight >> Asik
    Dwight + Asik >>>>> Asik + Smith/DMo

Dwight should not be fully credited for the team improvement this year. The natural progression from the core players is another major factor.

rockets have blown out 2 teams in a row. they went 6-4 during the most brutal 10 game trip .. they have the 4th seed which is lining up to be the perfect seed for them.. and all people wanna talk about is lin vs harden, howard vs asik ... come on now! we live in a city where our hometown teams in baseball and football finished dead last, we finally have a team worth rooting for and all some people want to talk about is dumb individual play .. get over it and goo rocketsss

How many points Harden was averaging last year on what percentage? Of course it's not only Howard, but having a guy like that opens up for everybody else. With Asik, that was pretty much all he could do. This is year one of Howard. Just wait. Asik does not give nearly the same sense of hope. Were people upset last year got beat by Miami at Miami.

No missed layups from Asik? That has to be a mistake! :)

Good to see Rox come back home and take care of business after subpar three games. Even though the team has looked great without Dwight, its ridiculous to imply the team is somehow better without him. Now I will say this, I wish Dwight would pattern his game after Asik. Asik is very limited offensively but he is still able to score a decent amount by being active around basket for put backs, layups, and occasional dunks. Dwight has much better athleticism and hands than Asik and would still be a 20 and 10 player easily if he humbled himself and focused more on his strengths which are PnR, put backs, dunks etc. Dwight feels the need to show the world he's a legit post up player and he really limits himself doing this because most of his post ups are negative plays. Thats why the Rox have looked a little more free flowing the last two games because they haven't felt obligated to defer to Dwight in the post.

Nothing is ever enough. People complain when they win, complain when they lose, complain because of not enough minutes, complain about minutes at the wrong time, etc. Enjoy the second consecutive blow out win, please.

I am reserving my right to complain. But I thought it was great to see Harden, Bev, and Lin out there on the floor. As well as seeing DMo and Asik tear it up in Howard's absence. This team can go small, big - gonna be a lot of fun to watch them in the playoffs.

Great game, and the first one I've attended in over 10 years.
Red Rowdies are so much better live in-person.
When J.J. Barea was at the free throw line they started singing "it's a small world after all".
Also love how they shout "Rockets" during the National Anthem.

Dmo is pretty deadly around the basket. Forget about developing him as a stretch 4, and let him develop as a backup center. With the way the league is going (away from traditional centers), DMo may very well find his niche.

    Great game, Dmo.
