    Lowry with this squad would be so legit.

    Sign and trade for Lin. I'm sure Toronto would welcome the exposure he'd bring

    I do not know who is running the show in Toronto, but he is obviously a smart smart dude. Smart people do not make that trade for Toronto.

    Lowry's been a Top 10ish player this year and he's not really the type to simply turn it on for a contract year. Also, the Rockets can open up the cap space for him fairly easily (Lin + 2014 first to a third team), but it seems like he is just going to stay in Toronto.

    Absolutely, also Lowry would undoubtedly start.

    The article got me thinking, was Lowry's extended mystery illness not as mysterious as we thought? Was it as simple as the fallout with Mchale?

    Top 10ish = plays like a Top 10 but not really? lol. Just say he's Top 20, then.

    Lin's got a poison-pill contract. He's 8m on the cap for the 3 seasons of his contract but the payment is structured 5,5,15. So the team we'll be trading him to would effectively be paying the 3m per year he played for us (this and last season for a total of 6m). Doubt anybody's gonna bite unless we offer something to make up for that 6m difference.

    Top10ish as in there is a large cluster of really great players underneath the very top guys this year. I mean, can you really differentiate that much between Dragic's and Lowry's seasons?

    Regarding Lin, notice in my post I assumed that the Rockets would be throwing in their first (plus cash, as always).

    I'd imagine the trade deadline bid as Lin, cash, 2 1sts (assuming Lowry would re-sign at reasonable price).
