From what I have heard Bosh spent the summer working on his 3 point shot. He already has taken more 3 point shots this season than in the previous 4 years combined.

Ugh, cyberx's credentials have been discussed over and over and over again on CF. Read more threads before starting this yet again. I just read his comments as that coming from a sports agent in the industry and what he hears on the grapevine. Doesn't make him infallible; doesn't mean he's always right. But his insight is always nice because it provides a perspective most of us will never have. Whether one camp is lying to another is still of course fair game and possible, but more info is better than no info, assuming you use it correctly.

They don't have to trade him. Letting him simply opt out has a lot of value in this new mega luxury tax world.

I would gladly trade Lin, Asik, Parsons, and 2 1st round picks for Melo. The guy has shown me a lot this season. He's shown a tremendous level of competitiveness on both ends of the floor scoring, rebounding, passing, and playing d on a garbage Knicks team. A lineup of Bev, JH, Melo, TJones, & D12 can compete for multiple championships. You can manufacture a bench with that team. The time is now. The Rockets need to be in win now mode.

    Q: What would you peg Carmelo’s 2014-15 team odds at? I have Knicks 1/1, Bulls 3/1, Charlotte 7/1, Lakers 10/1, Suns 12/1, Heat 15/1, Field 20/1.
    —Andrew, New York

SG: I’d go Knicks 1/2, Rockets 2/1 (Dwight 2.0), Bulls 2/1 (the smartest option), Charlotte 10/1 (Jordan Brand ties), Heat 12/1 (The Decision 2.0), Suns 25/1 (cap space!), Lakers 60/1 (Hollywood!). Jalen Rose has a funny take on this — by using Phil Jackson as a smoke screen, Carmelo can grab that extra $30 million guaranteed without anyone ripping him for caring more about money than winning.

Phil Jackson is a winner — we’ve had some great talks lately. I love everything he’s saying. I think we can win a title together.

Translation: I WANT THE EXTRA $30 MILLION! Meanwhile, as we’ve been discussing on the B.S. Report for six weeks, the Rockets could easily clear Carmelo cap space by trading Omer Asik’s deal (easy) and Jeremy Lin’s deal (they’d have to use a first-round pick and/or Terrence Jones to dump it). You know why you can’t rule out Houston? Because we’ve heard the he-won’t-go-there logic before with them. I don’t care how big of a mess it is, he’s not walking away from that fifth year and that extra money … He wants to stay in a big market … The Texas state tax thing isn’t that big of a deal … I mean, didn’t we watch this movie last summer with Dwight? Along with Chicago, those are the two title-ready destinations for him. And they’re both in play. The Zen Master has some work to do.

I think we can trade Asik relative easy, maybe for a bad first and cap relief.
Lin is another story. The team who take Lin will pay him around 15 million.
Houston 2014 and what we get from Asik I hope will be enough to move Lin contract.
And probably we have to move with rookie contract (Canaan, Dmo, T Jones).
But we can keep Parsons and Beverly.

I don’t understand why so many people want to do a Sign and trade if Parsons is included.
It will be cheaper creating the salary cap space to sign Carmelo directly.

I don't quite understand how cyberx has gotten so much respect despite giving consistently terrible information.

Harden + Melo on the same team would be disastrous.

Would rather have Milsap, Bosh, even Rudy Gay over Carmelo. His no-defense, soft game isn't suited for playoff wins.

Stephen A is generally a joke, but he has decent local connections in NY.

Melo knows his window is closing fast.

Maybe not as a #1 option, but Melo as your #2/#3 option is absolutely championship natural. A line-up of Bev, Harden, Parsons, Melo, and Dwight would be in the WCF immediately. I'm just hoping the Knicks would bite on Lin, Asik, T-Jones + a first rounder.

Don't take Kwame seriously. Parsons, Asik and Lin is 60% of a playoff starting roster in the Eastern conference. The guy would have thrown in Jones and D-Mo also, but he just could not remember their names.

The stuff he recently posted in this thread which borders on nonsensical along with the ridiculous Rondo rumors.

So your implying they let him walk in order to create cap space?

What happens to all of this if the Rockets get 55+ wins and makes it to the WCF? It all goes away, the Rockets youngsters get a year better next season and Morey uses the MLE to sign a valuable addition. It all just goes away.

Almost half of Melo's total shots are BS mid-range shots with a low PPP, does that really sound like a Morey guy? I mean unless you think that he believes he can fix him as a player...
