Myself I'm amazed at how anyone can play with a controller. I grew up playing mouse and keyboard so it's second nature. But when my nephew invited me to play Halo him and taunted me as he whooped my butt... damn, I wish I had a mouse and kb.
My nephew who is 6 started playing Left 4 Dead 2 on his brother's PC when he was 4. He's pretty pro with the WASD now. He mostly plays Garry's Mod and Left 4 Dead 2. He's been playing the Minecraft demo for awhile now too. I setup L4D2 on my HTPC with a 360 controller hooked up to it and it confused the **** out of him.
This game is so much fun. Too bad the nerd bombers are killing me left and right. I always look at the radar a lot and pilots are still sneaking up on me.
Here is a nice example of using the Strider's Dash core for perfect strafing: and a double titanfall kill with warpfall transmitter:
I suck at this game...by far my worst record on any FPS I have played. Ive probably only played like 10-12 games total, but damn, I feel like I get so many good shots off on other pilots, but they still end up killing me even though Im unloading on them. Still fun though.
Yeah there is a bit of a learning curve. The game is extremely fast, and always make sure you're on the move as well as going high to the rooftops.
I think this is my biggest issue...Im so used to staying on the ground from COD/BF, that I tend to forget that I should be playing above the ground. A lot of my deaths come from getting shot from above.
If you're used to COD you would think that you would be used to the vertical aspect of things. They really ramped that up after MW2. I mean it's more often that people are on roofs now, since they're a lot easier to get to. You really should never be on the ground. If you're down there, you're always an easy target.
This is ultra cheese, and hilarious. I'm going to have to try this. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/aaOJZFEyKg0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
I don't believe this has been posted, forgive me if it has. With that said, if you're advanced you will find a lot of this common sense or simply already know. I caught a couple things that were helpful (like I wasn't sure how elevation worked on the minimap until I saw this), hopefully those who are having trouble will find this incredibly informative. Also in the video you see him using vortex shield. Vortex is nice, but frankly I feel being rodeo-ed is a completely unnecessary problem to have. I get electric smoke every time. You can use it as cover to get away, you can put it down the second someone's domeshield drops and if you use damage core it RIPS titans apart. More intelligent players will get off you every time or wait until your smoke is down to rodeo you, but if you use it intelligently it almost eliminates the problem entirely (it will absolutely kill stupid people, every time all the time). This could change as players become more experienced, but in the current meta it's perfect in my opinion. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/tOEmKollhJg" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
