Legend is another level of eliteness. In a way, I loved Francis and Tmac, but legends? No. That's not a knock on their game either. Its just true.

True, but played most of their careers elsewhere, thought about that with Hayes and Moses too, but they played enough in Houston for me.

No he wasn't, and in my view he was never a really good player from a team standpoint. He was a free style, ball hogging, scoring machine who always made sure he showed up big in the box score. I wish I had a dollar for every time he went one on five, made a "dippsy doodle" behind the back, over the head circus shot for a miss and turnover. Or his famous dribble out the shot clock for a turnover. Or his patented dribble out of bounds for a turnover. Yes, he was a spectacular dunker, yes he could light it up from time to time, but, in my view, he was more about putting on a show than playing the game within a team concept.

"Legend"? That's a VERY powerful word, and not many people at all qualify in my book. I think of it in terms of "Will this person be remembered in 50 years?"

    Hakeem Olajuwon
    Rudy Tomjanovich

Fit that bill. As of now that's it in my book.

His best years were in Houston and he left a memorable mark on the game and the city. Sure.

TMac is no more a Rockets legend than Matt Bullard is, same goes for Francis.

Sorry but no Francis is not a Rocket legend. He was a good player during his time here but not legendary unless the legendary bar has been set very low.

If Ralph is a Rocket Legend, then so is Drexler. He did more than "get us to the Finals", he won a championship.

Hakeem(94) and Drexler(95) both led in playoffs winshares while winning championship so they are in first tier, Tmac, Yao, Moses in second tier. Maybe you can add Murphy and Hayes for longevity.
