Yeah, and after he comes out and says that his back is feeling fine he magically performs a lot better in the subsequent games Inb4 why can't people play through back injuries bunch of keyboard warriors People are always going to see what they wanna see, the facts are that Lin's averaging 12 pts 4 assists on 45% shooting off the bench, the team isn't living or dying by him because when he plays crap he gets his minutes reduced like we saw during his slump, when he plays well his minutes get increased Absolutely pathetic that your basis for evaluating a player is when he is obviously hobbled by injury, even the biggest Lin detractors thought something was wrong with his health given how bad he looked Lin is an inconsistent, turnover prone yet at times explosive scoring guard, he is what he is but when he isn't injured on the balance of everything he is a net positive for the team, he steps up when Hardens out (averaging 21/6, 48% shooting and team ntrtg is +2.39) and he fits the role that he's been put in. Some of you are so freaking fickle.
So, this game everyone plays well EXCEPT for Lin and we lose. Last game, everyone plays bad EXCEPT for Lin and we lose. So what is the lesson here? I'm confused.
This really stems from the LOF's. For every good game Lin has the LOF's show up en masse to push their slanted stat analysis and claim we couldn't have won without him and how he deserves more playing time and more shots. The games like this where Lin shoots 25%, has more turnovers than assists, has a -22, and is guarding a 38 year old reserve that drops 25 points then it's about how the loss isn't on Lin. He gets the praise and credit for playing well but nothing is his fault. The fact is he is incredibly inconsistent and we don't know who we're getting from game to game. Unless he is on offensively he is simply a bad player and he hurts the team. This is why his playing time is inconsistent. This is why we can't rely on his production game to game. Never in the history of this franchise has a player been hyped like Lin and have fans of a player trashed everything and everyone in defense of that hype. Lin consistently fails to deliver on that hype but the next time Lin scores 20 points the same LOF's will be here for the same routine about how awesome he is and how he should get more minute and shots, how Harden this and Parsons that and McHale whatever. And then when Lin sucks they'll be back to say it's not his fault. Rinse and repeat.
Yeah. We fans are much better than Mchale because we can always tell whether a choice he made is good or bad... AFTER we see the outcome.
When he plays like today, yes he is hurting the team. The uncertainty of which player we get from game to game also hurts the team.
Just for my point of reference, was there any other player that is also hurting the team? Specifically this game? And also, which players are hurting the team in general? Not picking on you. Just needing it as a point of reference.
The better questions is: Why does McHale play Jeremy Lin against the Heat at all? Jeremy Lin's career numbers against the Miami Heat (including Sunday's game): FG% 26.8 14 Asissts to 17 Turnovers which gives an assist to turnover ratio of 0.82. Average +/- of (-17)
For once, I agree with the LOFs. We didn't lose because of Lin sucking. We lost because Lin was allowed to suck.
I completely agree. Lin didnt play well tonight. It would have been better if he had saved his performance that he had against the Bulls for tonight. Or vice versa, if the players who had played well tonight played well against the Bulls the other night. Then it might have been 1W, 1L instead of 2Ls. Anyways, I was just interested in your opinion, who else did you think hurt the team tonight.
This is just another example of Lins poor bball iq. Instead of sucking when everyone else sucked he chose to suck against the heat when less players sucked. you'd think he'd be smarter than that because he went to harvard and booksmarts corresponds with bouncing an inflatable ball /s
I've watched about 60 games this year so far on NBA league pass. I WANT Jeremy Lin to be a great player, but I don't see it happening. Same with DMo. I'm just saying let's move on from Jeremy Lin . . . he can't play against elite perimeter players on either side of the ball. He's ok, but not good or elite. -rcketsfan1
