Does he really think airplanes don't have GPS???

I guess pilots have been flying with giant maps to figure out where they are lol

News has been too slow the last day couple of days which makes me feel like something is happenng. Up till now it seems like they were throwing us a bone with a new fact or discovery every day as they tried to figure things out behind the scenes.

I don't know if y'all are being sarcastic but the plane's transponder is basically the LOJACK system that allows planes to be tracked.

You do realize that Lojack can be turned off or removed if one knows where to look. Just like a transponder on an airplane. In fact part of why the evidence is now pointing towards deliberate action rather than an accident is that shutting off a transponder isn't as simple as turning a switch.

But CometsWin said planes don't have GPS. That's the discussion here.

Not exactly sure how a LOJACK works but a plane transponder works by announcing to the radar and any other plane's CAS that they are there.

Think of as having something constantly yelling out loud "I AM HERE HERE IS MY FLIGHT #".

It requires a radar/plane to be within the range of it's transponder. The radar would see something is there and a transponder is simply announcing what their ID # is.

Captain Shah from MH370 was/is an ardent supporter of the Malaysian opposition leader, Anwar Ibrahim, who is currently in jail on sodomy charges. This hijacking could possibly be in protest of that abuse of power by the Malaysian PM.

What we do know now is that Malaysia is conflicted in the pursuit of justice in this situation. They have two public relations problems that they don't want getting out of control. 1. That they have Muslim terrorists in their country. 2. That their national airline is unfit for international travelers. Both 1 and 2 have very negative economic consequences for this country. Keep in mind that there has been a currency route in SE Asia after the Fed announced its tapering program and after China's rate of economic growth has slowed. Malaysia is doing everything it can to prop up its economic image in the world. My goodness if you've traveled through Asia recently, you can't help but see 10 pro-Malaysian economy promotional spots per hour on Bloomberg or CNBC. This event is a disaster for their image. It's time to turn over the investigation to the FBI.

That would be the first and easiest thing to cross off the list.
