Seems like Lin was in because he was the only guy size-wise to guard Allen. Ideally, Lin doesn't guard him, but there is just nobody else on the team who can. The Heat recognized it and went to the Lebron-Allen combo multiple times. Doesn't help that Lin got basically no calls on him on the defensive end (e.g. that super obvious grabbing screen by Lebron and multiple offensive fouls by Lebron on Lin). Personally, I think McHale coached according to what Spoelstra did instead of forcing them to match up with D-Mo in. Spoelstra's the better coach, so not surprising.
But McHale hates Lin apparently, marginalizes him and wants to prove that Lin is an average player so he stuck to that trend and wanted Lin exposed on National TV
Did you LOHs watch the game or not? Miami played small ball with 3 guards and LBJ+Bosh, that's why Mchale put Lin in there to match up.
It's okay, after the next game that Lin does well again yall will be praising him. That's how the forum goes now a days, hate one day, love another.

Jones would have done fine on Lebron and it would have been a huge rebounding advantage for us. Not a good substitution. You simply cannot rely on Lin.
hes a gambler and when he finally see his bet not winning, only then his bball sense might come back. or not. problem is, whether he see it or if he see it right, all depend on his inconsistent eye test skill.
Without Lin we don't win the Portland game. It was the right sub. He didn't play particularly well, but then again neither did anyone else on the floor the final 4 minutes.
There hasn't been a player more frustrating to watch since Rafer was here than Jeremy Lin. Passive, indecisive, turnover prone, inconsistent, etc. Just maddening, wish Canaan would get more of a look.
when Ray allen is on the court, the one who guards him really needs to play him tight, no matter how old ray is... the last Ray allen's 3pt was a mistake on Lin, you just can't leave that guy alone... Lin really needs to think about his help defense strategies... he has to read the situation better...
the same small lineup won a lot times too... so nothing wrong with the substitution... the players did not play well, execute well...
Lin is freakin terrible, but you LOF have your goggles on. He turns the ball over too much, makes dumb decisions like driving into the paint and picking up his dribble all the time, and plays ZERO defense. What he does offensively doesn't come close to making up for the rest of his game. He's a liability when he's on the floor, and I couldn't believe McHale had the balls to put him in in crunch time. That might have been the worst coaching decision of the year, although I personally think McHale is a joke of a head coach. Ask yourself this question: would Lin ever see the floor on a legit championship team? He should see 10 min MAX on this team. Harden can run PG when Bev needs a break
