15-2 run to end the game. Delay of game 2 dumb 3 pointers by Beverley & Lin Harden misses a layup And well down hill from there. It's too bad Houston is the only team called for def. 3 seconds and touching the ball after a shot. Unfortunate. =/
feelin okay about this game. we have a couple of mental mistakes in the 4th qtr. which is controllable. but with miami's refs calling everything miami's way, any mistake was too much. this game was much closer than the score tells and we had miami on their heels. a series with the heat would be a slugfest.
lol are you srs? game changed when lelayup held lin and gave allen a wide open layup. Heat were also struggling but kept getting free points of terrible calls. Bs technicals did you watch the game?
But you can sure as hell blame them for changing the momentum. Two phantom techs at that point in the game is inexcusable. Really wish we would've seen McHale lace into them after the game. Absolutely terrible.
did anyone realize how much crap lebron gets away with until now, that hold on the screen, then that push off with the off arm driving, then that tech on bev...not a winnable game
Momentum is a huge thing in the NBA though. And the refs completely took that away from the Rockets. The Heat might've won this game regardless, but the fact that we're sitting here with a legitimate feeling that the Rockets had to contend with 8 opponents on the floor instead of 5 is disheartening.
those were bad calls, but leaving Ray freaking Allen wide open for a corner 3 was the biggest play of the game in my opinion
The Rockets could not lose withing 5. They are still not legit contenders in my book. This Heat team has lost like 4 of the last 5 games and they were very beatable today. They came to play (**** you Ray) and the Rockets did not. The Heat were favored by 5.5 points and for good reason. They had no problem covering the spread. They may have helped the Heat cover the spread and while I think the calls were heavily in favor of the Heat, the Rockets better get used to being the NBA's whipping boys. Rockets fans have to get used to these calls. Other fan bases are babies. They would hate life as a Rockets fan. If we got the calls the Nuggets got the other night it would have been a 40 point blowout for the Rockets. But I'm not complaining. The Heat are always going to get the calls. They will continue to get the calls. You have to play great to beat them.
Amazing what two little calls can do. Momentum completely changed following the 3 second call and the delay of game. Lebron gets away with a hold that a WWE wrestler would be proud on Lin of and Wade gets away with one of the biggest flops in NBA history faking a Howard push and that's ballgame. Others have said the Rockets shot 0-6 down the stretch, but momentum plays such a big part in what shots you get and if they go in. Maybe I'm being a homer, but I blame this loss completely on the BS calls of the refs down the stretch.
That ONE shot by Lin was, once again, a game-changer. It was incredibly selfish to take that shot, at that time, contested, when you have a guy named James Harden that has kept your team in the game, in the 4th quarter and commands a double team. The bench looked disgusted...I can't say they blame them. Patrick Beverly took a three on one of the next possessions, and while it was somewhat contested, it was a catch-up shot. It was not the same pivotal moment that Jeremy decided that he was going to try and take over. After the Heat cashed in off of a mental lapse by Lin, we needed a bucket quickly. Patrick's shot was BAD, but again, that ONE possession where Lin went into Hero Mode may have been the most crucial of the game. You have to be smart. You have a few possessions at the end of the game that make or break you. There was no reason for Jeremy to take that shot. It wasn't open nor was it in the flow of the offense. And, yes, I've watched the whole game. We didn't lose because of Jeremy Lin, but that shot, which is against a team that you cannot make mistakes against, was horrendous. Not because he missed it, but because it seemed like there was no thought behind it. That game could/should have been ours. F the refs, but shot-selection is not Lin's forte...we've seen it with his penetration and jumping into nowhere all season. That was an expose of his weaknesses in basketball intellect. And before I get smashed on by the JLOFanClub, I am a fan of Jeremy Lin, but he deserves the criticism that his mistakes warrant just as much as he deserves the praise that his success warrants.
