I won't be a hypocrite. I played Halo 1 PC for 5 years (even when H2 came out) and loved playing it with a mouse/keyboard.
Yea, having stable 60fps is really legit but I haven't really noticed an issue with the xbone. I think it stays at around 45-50 for me. As much as I love playing with a keyboard and mouse this new controller is freaking amazing too.
I'm from Halo PC, I was on a few of the top teams. Did you play competitively at all? Definitely one of my favorite experiences in gaming despite its' flaws.
Yup sure did, height of my short stint gaming addiction. Clanwars, clanhalo.net, halotl.com, mlg. Depending on the timing and league you played in I'm not sure if we'll be familiar with any of the same clans. It was a b**** having to record every match to show that there wasn't any botting going on but sure as hell was fun!
I was being careful since some people said that they had framerate issues. Its stable all game, there are a couple of rare dips when you spawn at the beginning but thats about it. 60fps is as smooth as you can get, and it doesn't have that exact feel so thats why I guestimated 50...perhaps a baseless observation lol.
CAL/CPL mostly. We had a few teams made up of random CAL players on Team Warfare that would just sub in and out and wreck for matches. I think the team was #1 all the way around, I only played in a match or two for them. We didn't have to record any matches, but then again I'm sure there was cheating. None of the teams I was on ever won anything online, then we played the same teams on LAN at CPL and won. If they weren't cheating, I don't know what to say...ping advantage? In some cases I will accept nerves, but there were definitely one or two people where they just were 100% opposite of their online play.
The only exception for 60fps is the Lagoon map. Jesus, that map destroys my frame rate. Only map too, so weird... Maybe because of water/water caustics simulation?
I started out pretty slow, but my K/D has been climbing steadily* since I figured out the loadouts I like and the map layouts. (sort of) (*see last 10 games stats)
By the sound of it, you were probably a lot better than me even though I considered myself to be pretty damn good lol. I think the likely answer to your question is the ping, the lead in that game was absolutely ridiculous. At the same time though, having to compensate for atrocious ping led to extremely skilled players, but yes, there were always a couple of people using the halotab.exe aimbot. If you crouched (and lived) or saw people twitch and HS, it was a DEAD giveaway lol. Damn. I kind of miss PC gaming now
You noob. Jk Easy does not equate to fun in my book. That's why we don't play scripted single player games and prefer to be challenged online.
Let them have their fun. 1 day , 2 days, 1 week, 2weeks...check in on this thread in a month. I'm never wrong about these things. I still think I have more hours on this game than anyone and new maps/game modes will add some life to this game but it doesn't fix the lack of replay value. The titans are the main problem, but without them it's just another run of the mill shooter.
Who said it was easy? I certainly didn't, I just have a better understanding of the meta game than most right now. I am not typically challenged in public servers in any fps I play, which is why I play higher level competitive stuff. I don't think you should equate my scores with the game being easy. Besides when they implement private games (they're working on it), then we get to see how the game really works. Organized team play is going to be bonkers in this game, I dont entirely know how it will work yet. I'm guessing since the grenades are COD level mini nukes that people will have set nades they throw from spawn just like COD. Initial skirmishes as pilots will be COD like, but when Titans come in all bets are off really. Although it'll be a lot easier to kill them when other pilots actually try to assist you in pilot v titan fights. Should be interesting.
Ahhhh okay, I get it now you have no idea what you're talking about. The pilot movement is why a lot of competitive fps players are interested in this game not the Titans. With that said what's wrong with the titans again? Lastly why do you think you have more play time than anyone, how much have you played exactly?
Dude. What the hell is wrong with you? Is this Cowboy_Bebop's second account? NOBODY CARES WHAT YOU THINK. If you don't like the game that is fine, stop ruining the thread.
Okay. The more Titanfall I play, the more Titanfall I like! As some of you know, I sold my PS4 and bought an Xbox One just for this game so I had a lot riding on it. I picked it up at the midnight release, but was out of town on vacation and didn't play it until Thursday morning. My initial reaction was mixed. It was fun, but not THAT fun. I think part of my frustration was that every time I got a Titan I was getting blown to smithereens. My knowledge of the game was far behind the guys who had been playing the beta and had several days of experience on me. Then things started to change. I am already more than holding my own. My KD is up to 3.5 and my KD against players is up to 1. I would say that my averages from Friday would be somewhere in the 10 overall and 3 against players range. I'm playing mostly Attritian. The game is soooo much fun. The pilot movement is phenomenal. Words cannot describe being able to bounce from building to building like Spiderman and swoop down on the enemy and get a sweet multi kill. I can't wait to see what the download content adds to this. This game has Titan potential! Gamertag on Xbox is Dylan Killinger
If anyone cares, DF did their tech analysis of the game: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2014-titanfall-next-gen-face-off Definitely has some performance problems on XBO. They didn't notice the "single-digit frame rate," though I noticed a few other people did experience it (one guy even managed to record it, so it definitely happens). That seems to be a bug though, and not related to the engine buckling under things going on in the game. I think the worst in those cases is the 30s and maybe 20s with Last Titan Standing (other modes are closer to 60 FPS). As I said with the last DF link, if you're going to attack XBO or whatever, I'd recommend you post in the CONSOLE WARS thread.
Lol, I might buy it if you guys still play in after a month or two. Why u mad? I didn't know this thread was only post here if you have nice things to say about titanfalll. I don't let bought hype influence my decision. And ms and ea bought a lot of reviews and coverage for this game,
