I'm a noob to the SXSW experience. I was able to go to the Kanye and Jay Z show on Wednesday for free. It was a pretty amazing show for a first timer.

Rashad Charjuan Owens was charged Friday with one count of capital murder, though additional charges can be added later. Austin Police Chief Art Acevedo has said Owens intentionally steered toward pedestrians early Thursday in hopes of escaping an officer who was trying to pull him over. Acevedo has suggested Owens could face two capital murder charges and as many as 23 counts of aggravated assault with a vehicle.
They are just saying that to justify the capital murder charge which will never stick. The guy is still a skum bag. He's 21 years old with 6 kids.

Damn. Seems like I missed out on a lot this year. I'll usually make it in to downtown for 1 or 2 days during the daytime. Good news is, got my tickets to the Utopia Festival. If you've never heard of it, it's a small fest in Utopia, TX. 2 stages. Tickets capped at 2,000. Camping on site. I'm looking forward to it because their lineup has gotten progressively better every year.
