So let me get this straight. You're criticizing someone for using a "small sample" (which wasn't all that small, by the way) but now you're basing your argument on an even smaller sample? And you think it's been "not many games" later? It's been almost two months. Lin has played well two or three times in the last handful of games and you're calling this article a knee-jerk? Amazing. And I'll take sides too. I'll take sides with the lineup that gives us the best chance to win. Every time. Call me what you will.

Why can't you just be happy that Lin is finally healthy and playing well?

Clutch was smart to post this, If his goal was to get a lot of hits on this website and drive more eyeballs to it.

when Im sorting through the madness on this site, sometimes I wonder who clutch is. What he/she looks like? What their favorite color is or what they had for lunch.

Seriously? It only took me a few months of browsing here and following on Twitter before it was pretty clear. Reading the history of Clutchfans might be worthwhile for some folks.

Like I said a long time ago F the numbers ! I'll make my decision after playoffs. That's when I'll determine if a 3 & d pg half court offense ran by harden, would be better than having 2 attacking guards to run p&r from either side and always look to push.

Numbers aren't clear about anything yet until playoffs come

Not really. While those are lineup stats, they are not starting lineup stats. I don't have any hard data, but my suspicion is that starting lineup defensive efficiency benefits from personal fouls.

E.g. the starting lineup has 4 potential "free possessions" where fouling does not directly lead to points. Conversely, when substitutions occur midway through the quarter, those lineups are close to being in the penalty. It's likely that subsequent fouls will lead to free throws. This second lineup may also benefit offensively from being in the penalty, but unfortunately the Rockets are an awful free-throw shooting team.

I just find it hilarious that the narrative early on was Jeremy was poor in fighting through screens while Bev was a tenacious defender who would be able to stay with the PG. Now in turns out it's just as easy to get rid of Bev with a well placed screen. Perception perception.

I am happy and I am still in favor of Lin as a 6th man, and I'm very happy/excited with the way this team has played since January. I also think Lin has played like hot garbage for much of the month and I'm not sure I am ready to give him a pass for a semi phantom back injury that seemed to only be talked about after several terrible games.

That being said I do not think it was a smart move to post this article by the moderator and owner of the site when this is far and away the most controversial topic in the past two years and he was essentially making his side quite clear. Unless his goal is to only drive up clicks I can't think of a reason to write an article that had to be a bait like this.

He's a fan discussing his team. The fact that it's a controversial topic is all the more reason to write it. People want to discuss this, so Clutch delivers a medium for us to do so.

I agree he's more than welcome to his opinion and overall runs a really good forum, I just suppose I expected him to try to put out the fire instead of adding gas to it.

The best part is that Lin probably played more bad games than good games after Clutch's claim, and "the numbers" are no longer clear.

Beverly has started every game in 2014, the period where we have the best record in the league.

Have you thought about how since Lin went to the bench, he plays better with the starting unit through the game? Try thinking without those rose coloured glasses.

I think we should start lin Bev and harden and then scatter them out to lead the bench

This one got me laughing lol. You ever taken a math class man? More games total means a larger sample as a whole. The more games added, the more reliable the data becomes... Side note I'm glad lin looks healthy. I think he's more injury prone than inconsistent. However, when healthy he's a top 10 pg in the league

Interesting? I guess those numbers are heavily influenced by the blown games or outliers. Is there anyway to take out games when we were blown out or others blown out by us?

Never mind. I always think it is a wash off with either starting. But I do wish Lin can close out more as he has proven to be prtty clutch at end games.

The numbers are quite clear in the "jeremy lin is a joke" thread, the poll has 95% (more than 700 votes) saying he is not a joke. But the "jeremy lin is not a joke" thread was deleted while this one was and is allowed to stay on despite it being very obvious that the guy can play and can help the Rockets. Strange.
