After a ton of time in the beta and playing a fair amount of the main game I think I'm already burned out. Yea it's super fun for a while and makes an AMAZING first impression but it's just missing something to keep me around for much longer.
Exactly my feeling... Every game is the same... kill kill kill... titan .... kill kill kill.... titan Atleast on COD you have games where you get a ton of kill streaks and what not. Im already sick of getting a Titan.
I suck at the game, but it's still fun for me...I pretty much run around like a dumb ass, so I know Im probably missing some basic strategy with my approach. In any case, just trying to figure my way around and then hopefully I can increase my skill level. I think my K/D against humans is like 0.7 or 0.8. As far as longevity for the game...it's hard for me to say until Ive unlocked everything. I know for COD, what kept me going was different killstreaks, gun camos, etc... basically, there were so many different things I could try to accomplish within the game, that it would take some time for me to start getting tired of it. With Titanfall, I dont know what I'll be playing for once I get through all the guns/attachments. Granted, Ive only played like 5 games, but from what I have seen, I dont know if the game will hold my attention beyond 3-4 months. I very much hope that I am wrong, bc the game is fun as hell. Besides, 3-4 months is plenty of time gaming, so this isnt really a complaint, just some random thoughts.
Are you only playing Attrition or Campaign? If so, try the other game types. Also from my experience last night, I like Attrition but, I feel it goes way too quickly (the losing team has very little time to mount a comeback). We played several games of Pilot Hunter and it was a lot more competitive. It won't alleviate the kill kill kill mentality, but maybe you'll find it more interesting as well. CTF was fun the few times we played. Here's a tip: Use a Stryder if you're the flag runner, better yet have the burn card ready for the instant core ability. Dash core + Stryder + flag carrier = instant cap.
This was my concern based on what's there, hopefully their free content and DLC contains some new stuff. They've hinted that the monsters on the maps may play a part. I'm sure they'll add new guns, etc. Those who are tired of calling their titans in: Ever try not getting in it? I realize this is obvious, but the part of thr game that keeps bringing me back is the movement as a pilot. A lot of the time I just have it follow me around until I feel it's necessary to get in. The games all feel different to me, but I'm constantly trying to get better at wall running, and bouncing in between the walls. I'm getting pretty elusive at times, love this game.
Yea I've gotten to the point that most of the time I just let my auto-titan run around and follow me while I scale rooftops or i go find titan v. titan battles to kill the random pilots that always hang around those. I only get in my titan if i'm playing with friends so we can gang up together on other opposing titans.
So far its: RedRedemption(me), Seclusion, FlyerFanatic, and ShastaRocket on origin? It'd be nice if we got two more so we can run around as a full team.
We are talking about PC bro. It released like 40-45 from a few gaming sites. That means we can get it for 35 in a month and maybe 30 in two.
Did they add any game modes without the titans? I feel like they live much longer than they should and that everyone gets one within a 15 second interval so you don't get much of an advantage for getting one first. I guess that makes it more team oriented because the only way to quickly drop a Titan without sustaining much damage is if you double one. I still don't like that.
But. I want 60 fps. Really wish they would have let console and PC play together, but I understand their reasoning. Keyboard + mouse offers an unfair advantage against controllers.
