Carolina's current starting WRs: Tavarres King Marvin McNutt Looks like they should still make a move, but WRs are getting picked up quick. Personally I hope they grab Kenny Britt (for fantasy reasons).
so a 5th RD pick for sproles.. He was just traded to the Eagles.. (5th Rd Pick) Cmon Texans seriously do something. He could have helped a lot
3.5 million (plus the 1st pick in the 5th round) for a one year rental on a gadget player? no thanks. rather use that money on the future.
They don't care dude... but they will come up with some bs excuse to make it seem like they are doing something smart but in reality they are literally doing nothing but getting worse.
What do you want Sproles on this team for? why? People need to give up the notion that this team is in reload mode right away. This is a rebuild. We need to be OKC not the Knicks.
this one hurts. i was dreaming we could make a play for this guy and solve our RT problem; clearly not for that money, but it's in keeping with market value for really good RTs. Bucs signed LT Anthony Collins to a five-year, $30 million contract. Collins was our No. 4 tackle in free agency, behind only Eugene Monroe, Jared Veldheer and Branden Albert. The former Bengal was a dominant pass blocker last season, giving up zero sacks, one quarterback hit and 12 quarterback hurries even though Andy Dalton attempted 586 passes. Collins is an upgrade on oft-overweight Donald Penn, who is now firmly on the trade block. The Raiders should be on the phone. Mar 13 - 10:38 A
I am with you SSG... almost a crime we are making AJ go through more rebuilding years wen he has just a few highly productive years left. I am less concerned about JJ since he is young enough and at a position where he can expect to be here when (if) the Texans rise up to contend. As much as I would like to see AJ retire as a Texan, I also think the team owes it to him to allow him to play for a contender.
AJ for Carolina's 1st pick. We replace AJ with best WR at that # then when we are good again in a few years, he will be heading into his prime? Love AJ, but might be best for both parties.
I agree with you they need a rebuild. Their owner has said publicly they're not rebuilding...they're reloading. He thinks they're ready to win. I think he's delusional.
Their owner will say a lot of things but when he basically put Schaub to pasture he was in essence saying he wanted to rebuild. McNair knows the words that would set the fan base back 5 years and those words are Rebuild and Reset. He won't admit to doing either or for the ramifications of public perception. That's smart. He's not Jerry Jones some say but if he makes B.O.B. Reload instead of rebuild then he might as well be.
This team needs to get their financial house in order this season, eat money now so it doesn't burden us in the future, don't waste cap space on a band-aid. I'm fine if we don't make any significant FA signings, just cut Schaub and get him off the future books.
That's where we are headed, towards a futile reload, a couple of 6 or 7 win seasons and then another cliff. This franchise hasn't done anything right since it's inception, it's a bizarro world of groundhog day ****ty football whose crowning achievement in 15 years has been two winning season in a division that absolutely collapsed in their faces. Other than that, the rest of the time they have been squarely seated at the table with the Jacksonville Jaguars and Cleveland Browns, it's ownership and it's where they belong.
