No, I don't believe Dwight has addressed a crowed of ~35,000 plus national TV audience a large chunk of which consists of children and dropped by dropping an F bomb.

Oh and then there's also the time he tested positive for Steroids. Soooo... yeah.

its not like those kids haven't heard the F bomb before, or like that was the last time they heard it... he was showing love for the city.

oh god... John Cena has done all the steroids in the world and I would say he is the best sports role model there is!

Howard was destroyed by the freshmen Adams tonight. Pathetic!

I am not crazy about this award. I wish he wasn't up for it. I wish Howard was less playful and more serious. There is a time for clowning and a time for being serious. Enthusiasm can be a part of both but Howard doesn't know how to turn the clowning off. I wish he was more like Perkins.

A game as serious as this one, Dwight most definitely need to cut the clowning out. Did you see how serious Durant and Westbrook were throughout the game and before the game. They meant business and it showed.

I have seen no signs that Dwight isn't serious about basketball and plenty of signs that he is very serious about basketball. One can be serious about the game and still have a good time, and clown around. Not everyone can do that, but certainly some people can.

I'm not really a fan of people seeing a guy smiling or clowning and thinking that it keeps them from being serious or trying hard at something. I just don't think that's the case.

I'm probably not going to be able to explain this in a way you will understand. Because if you don't get it you don't get it. And if you can't see it you don't get it. It's not about working hard in the gym. It's not about talent. It's not about numbers. All of those things are important. Joakim Noah has it. Tim Duncan has it. James Harden has it. Hakeem had it. Michael Jordan had it. They all loved playing the game but winning was first and foremost. They put their game face on when the whistle blew.

I'm not saying you can't have fun but and I get Howard feels he plays better when he is clowning around and having fun. But let's face at there are other players that want to take your face and if they could get away with it they would. You can't be playing around when your foe wants to kill you. I do not believe in fighting but in my younger stupider days I got in a few and I never once ever smiled at my enemy. He could see in my face I meant business.

Basketball is not a fighting match but it is a competition. Why give them any edge. It's not a big thing but Kobe never liked Howard's clowning disposition. Of course I think Kobe has his own issues and is a primadonna prick but in this point I see it in Howard now. When the game is out of reach, you secured the win, yeah relax have a few laughs just don't disrespect the opponent.

I'm not saying Howard doesn't play hard. He has God given Talent and he uses it well. But there are times he needs to see he is the 1 messing up the game. And he needs to look at what he can do to improve. I wish he were more like Harden in this point.

Different strokes for different folks, I guess.

I personally wouldn't want my children using that kind of language when addressing women and children in a public venue and I'd like them to learn the value of integrity combined with hard work (ie not cheating), so I sure wouldn't want them idolizing David Ortiz. Maybe that's just a me thing, though.

I see what you're saying. I just believe that different players can approach the game differently and still be serious about it and still win. I believe that Dwight will play his best when he feels his best mentally physically etc. That seems natural. He may need to be enjoying himself to feel his best and that will bring better results for Dwight than putting on a game face. Each player probably plays their best when they are themselves. Since people and players are different, that will look different for different people.

I've seen it in the acting world a lot. Some people need to be method and get into character and stay in character to bring out their best performance. Others can be joking around right before they go on stage, and all of a sudden just turn it on when they walk out there, and give as good a performance as those that have been method acting the whole time. Both ways can work, but probably not for the same person. Each person has to find what works best for them.

I could see if you said KG in his prime because all Perkins did was ride him to a championship... Kendrick Perkins ain't shat! All he is... is a black 7 foot man with a mean face that talks a lot of bs. Now Dwight was man enough to put his poor game against Okc on himself admitted he could have done a lot better and more. He knows and he is being mature about it. So lets see what we get from Dwight against Noah thursday, April, May and June.

I am confused that the Rockets/Clutch are pushing this...

I guess at this point, for whatever reason, these things are important to Dwight.

I am perplexed but your dang right I voted.

What Richard Sherman did might be a little much, if we're talking kids.

Okay I didn't read the OP. Everything I said doesn't belong here. I didn't realize this was a Kid's choice award. Give Howard the award. He is really good with kids. He's kind of a kid himself.

Go vote for Howard. I am.
