Demarcus Ware released! Is there anyway that we can get this guy???? 1) Sign D. Ware 2) Draft Manziel/Bridgewater 3) Dominate.
I don't expect nor do I want anything more than second or third tier free agents this year. We need to really be angling for two years from now - have an awesome draft this year and plenty of money next offseason to sign JJ and a couple of tier 1 free agents to fill holes and try to be serious contenders again by the 2015 season.
He's about to be 32, why not draft Clowney instead? I mean, sure you wouldn't be able to draft Clowney AND reach on a QB but why not just draft Clowney and draft a QB in the second? It's a lot cheaper and would make the team better than paying an over the hill guy like Ware and reaching on a QB
Offensive lineman - drafted by Chicago in the first round in 2008; spent the last 2 years with St. Louis. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>Houston rumored to be one of teams interested in Chris Williams.</p>— Jim Thomas (@jthom1) <a href="https://twitter.com/jthom1/statuses/443504716849238016">March 11, 2014</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
B/C we are in win-now mode? Andre Johnson has 2-3 years of productive football left, which is probably the same amount of time that Ware has. Duane Brown, Foster, Watt, and Cushing are all in their primes right now, so you don't want to waste it on a QB in the 2nd round, that's not ready. Manziel and Bridgewater are both ready or at least as ready as it gets in the draft.

I'd see it as just another Ed Reed signing. As to the QB's, Bridgewater is meh as a prospect and his tiny frame will make him injury prone and Manziel isn't an NFL QB prospect at all.

No more used up geezers please. I don't care what a player did in the past, all I care about is what they can do now, and I hope the new regime feels the same way.
Colts are signing players, Titans have signed some players, and the Texans have let go of OD, but have not signed anyone.. They need to cut Schaub.. Also they need to go after Julian Edelman and cut Martin..
??? If Manziel wasn't an NFL QB prospect, then he wouldn't be in the convo for the #1 pick. Come on now.
He's not in serious conversations about the #1 pick. Honestly, he shouldn't be in the conversation to be picked before the 3rd or 4th round at the very earliest but he's got the kind of hype that'll get some franchise to reach on him in a moment of foolishness just like Denver did when they picked Tebow. Most Manziel talk is either Aggie homers or really lazy national people who see QB from Texas and immediately pencil him in to the Texans.
I am totally on board with cutting Schaub and signing Edelman. I have a feeling that the Texans are trying to trade Schaub for a late round pick or something... If they pull that off it would be fantastic as his cap hit would go away.
I think Schaub stays around until they either sign someone like McCoun, or they draft someone. Cutting Schaub without a replacement in place puts them in a position of weakness.
