[Grantland] The Patrick Beverley Appreciation Thread

meh. not sure if these guys are speaking in jest but all they talk about is how they love how dirty pat plays (implying he goes after people's knees and undercuts people going up for dunks). only problem is there's nothing dirty about pat's game. he's not really a flopper and he doesn't really deliver hard fouls. he just bodies people up and applies pressure more often than most defenders and picks up his guy for much more of the court than most defenders.

 

Red Bull... I think I like it.

It's an elitist back handed complement.

Like something an Ivy leaguer says to an Aggie at a function.

 

He completely won me over with his Miami game, when he defended Lebron in the last a few minutes like there is no tomorrow and succeeded. Replace his with Lin, Rockets might lose that game. As a Lin fan, Pat earned my respect.

 

They talking a lot of crap... Might want to leave such articles out of here.

With the exception of Sharp's blatant Rockets hatred I thoroughly enjoyed this article. So what if Beverley is viewed as a dirty and scrappy player? That's what we need! I will be spreading the Red Bull nickname!
