My brother in law and I picked our new Xbox Ones up at the midnight release at Best Buy. Haven't played yet though. What are you guys' opinions of the game so far? Looks like it has gotten a ton of great reviews already. Taking my kids to Fiesta Texas today for Spring Break and the Rockets play tonight so it may be another day before I can crack this baby open. Feeling good so far about by decision to sell my PS4 though. I'm actually somewhat surprised at how good the reviews have been. Very consistent across the board. 9/10 http://www.metacritic.com/game/xbox-one/titanfall/critic-reviews
Just dl'd the digital copy from the store on XB1. Hoping to play it later on today after the Rockets game. My first shooter in a long time... been a few years. Twitch is also working now which is cool.
Got it last night as well and got 2 matches in even though I have to get up at 6 for work (stupid but worth it). I must say, even though it's a small sample size, it was absolutely amazing. Lives up to the hype so far IMO.
Very fun and (besides the initial hiccup) no issues with the servers. Although, I do feel like the campaign was a clusterf&^%...
Do they really seem THAT high to you? Were you expecting to trade out consoles for a game that got mixed (7/10) reviews haha? Reviews are about what I expected, maybe a bit lower (I was expecting 90+ given the hype and talent/funding behind the game). Well...the scores seem lower, but I think the reviews themselves sound about right. I think reviewers are being very critical of this being a multiplayer only game that isn't a technical marvel (among other things), and that is probably keeping it from being in the 90+ range on Metacritic. Which by itself isn't really a problem (I share those same harsh opinions). But it is an opinion, and that's part of the problem of only looking at scores. A less "fun" game that had a single player campaign and better graphics might "score" the same as Titanfall, despite the fact that Titanfall might be quite exemplary in some aspects (and less than exemplary in other areas, which might not even be important to a lot of gamers). Describing Titanfall as "Pros: Amazing, fresh, and fun multiplayer Cons: No SP campaign, bad visuals/performance" is better than "87/100." This has been yet another...RC Cola rant on video game reviews.
Not sure about you guys, but I really enjoy when RC has his moments of talking in 3rd person. It's unexpected and shocking, but I like it.
That's what your mom said about RC Cola last night. But then again, your mom is a big fan of soft drinks. She should probably cut back on sugar. All that sugar can cause some serious health effects. Water can be pretty good from time to time. RC Cola is losing his damn mind. Too many years of CONSOLE WARS (and tinman posts) has resulted in massive post traumatic stress disorder and brain trauma.
I can see it now....hordes of people on spring break playing this game the entire spring break and not stopping for anything. Cartman's Mom will be by with the poop bucket.
I agree with seclusion. The graphics are not the selling point, the gameplay is. 360 version should be fine
is the gameplay really that great? it looks exactly like COD with futuristic/mech graphics. sure theres the parkour/jumping thing but doesnt seem to be any skill required to do it.
That's what you don't understand. There is a very low barrier of entry, because of the familiar COD elements. The movement is simple in that it you push one button, but it's very difficult to master. You can run routes, and people will have no clue you're coming (not to mention you gain speed while wall running). I've played a lot of shooters, and this one allows for a level of creativity in movement that hasn't existed before. Every single one of my friends (high level competitive cs players mostly) are in love with the movement as a pilot, half of them don't even want to get in their mechs. (a lot of the time, I don't)
Played four matches and I am liking it so far. Scratch that, loving it! Gotta get some sleep though, Rockets playing tonight and being an overnight worker, gaw!
