Tuna aka Parcells is very impressed with his football smarts, scouts rave about it, his college coach raves about it, but you still don't see it sigh...I wonder if he looked like Bortles if you would question his smarts
I honestly hope we draft Clowney and Bridgewater goes to the Jags so we can take bets on which will break first, his spirit or his body as he's facing Watt and Clowney twice a year,
One would hope, I don't think that will be the case. More than likely He will beat us time and time again with Blackmon and Shorts I don't think you understand how good the kid actually is
Huh? The last time I checked Luck and Manning didn't decide to mail in the last season of their college career. So yes, if you ignore the biggest knock on Clowney, that he doesn't have motor at a position where motor is one of the keys to a player, then yeah he's a Luck/Manning. And there's no reason to compare different positions. Clowney basically has Peppers upside and best comp to Mario Williams. That might still be better than Bridgewater, but sure as hell ain't close to any franchise QB.
Neither did Clowney if you actually watch the film rather than listen to lazy analysis. It's not ignoring the knock on him, it's ignoring the ignorant and lazy analysis that accuses him of being lazy. I was just comparing him to other "once in a generation" type of prospects, I could have said Calvin Johnson as well. The Peppers comparison is pretty good, but he's actually a little different kind of prospect. Same quality though. Easily so. There's not one available.
Bridgewater will be better and have a stronger more positive long term impact on whatever team he is on Preferably the Texans
Again I'm on the Clowney or trade down for Mack train but the lazy analysis says he didn't mail it in. The actual analysis including his own coach, watching the film and games he skipped says without a doubt he did. He even mentioned during the season that he didn't want to get hurt like Marcus Lattimore. If he didn't mail it in then i'd pass on him. He wasn't that good this year. I'd like to think he can be coached up or peered up (by Watt) into playing hard and not mailing it in. Too many times he was pushed out of plays by 1 guy and by TE's on a few occasions to have been going "all out". Again i think his ceiling is as high as anyone in this draft but to say he didn't mail it in is dead wrong.
Impressed actually, bigtexxx backed up his words for once. However the Wonderlic is practically meaningless when discussing football IQ and processing ability. Blaine Gabbert had a 40+ and he is absolute trash Jim Kelly, Terry Bradshaw and Dan Marino all scored 15s and are in the HOF
Clowney is legit, he is not as good as what Bobby makes him out to be. No fluidity in his hips and lacks laterally quickness
I'm not sure who you are getting your analysis from, but it's not very good. Try reading these and see if you can find a way to hold on to your "lack of effort" myth http://www.battleredblog.com/2014/3...on-clowneys-lack-of-effort-a-myth-says-person http://www.battleredblog.com/2013/12/18/5222864/2014-nfl-draft-making-the-case-for-jadaveon-clowney
Oh wait, its not good because i don't read my analysis from a Texans blog? Try reading what His own coach says about him other than some Texans fan. LOL you should be a scout. It was OK!! http://www.sbnation.com/2014/2/19/5425862/steve-spurrier-jadeveon-clowney-comments-effort
