If it crashed on land I have a hard time believing it hasn't been spotted. If it went further east, it seems more plausible. They say radar data suggests the plane turned back towards KL. If it turned to the east to make the turn, it would have gone out towards more open water and away from the concentration of search crews (I think).

The problem with that theory is that they know the aircraft reached 35,000 ft. So it could have easily coasted another 100 miles to land, and would have had plenty of time to notify the ground and transmit mayday signals.

    A probably really ignorant question:

What would happen if a plane was deliberately steered higher and higher and higher?

It would stall and fall out of the sky in a tumbling motion.

    1. Take over plane/ cockpit
    2. Force pilots to fly at an extremely low altitude to avoid radar
    3. Land in preplanned location
    4. ???

Yeah, as outlandish as it sounds, it would kind of tick all the boxes:

    - sudden loss of communication would best be explained by intentional cut-off
    - night flight, which would be somewhat harder to detect
    - guys with stolen passports on board
    - no explosion seen by satellite surveillance
    - no debris found
    - some people's phones supposedly rang (if true, I wonder why the phone companies could not locate the phones)

It's just the weirdest thing ever.

What happened to that door they found in the water? Did anybody actually go attempt to retrieve it? Seems weird that there was no follow up on that.

1A. Collect every cell phone within the time it takes to text or call someone. (There's just no way, even with machine gun threats, that you can keep 200 humans from using their cell phones starting at a certain time and lasting an indefinite time. It's just not possible at this time in our history.)

They were unable to relocate it in daylight. I guess it was not important enough to keep a track-light on it through the night (if even possible). Apparently there is all kinds of junk scattered throughout these waters, so it could have been anything really.

    You forgot "5. profit!"

But seriously, what are you going to do with all these hostages?

There will be 50 snipers lined up outside your window 40 minutes after you make a demand.

There is no reception at cruising altitude. If it is done there, there would be plenty of time.

So you guys are saying it's possible the plane didn't crash and landed at an undisclosed location?

I was flying from Saint Martin to New York on Sunday and was the only passenger "randomly selected" for additional screening prior to boarding the plane.

The Indo-Caribbean man who was conducting the screening bluntly pointed at my wristwatch and said that "terrorists are using watches as explosive devices."

It was the strangest thing I've ever encountered.

This sounds like a false flag operation.

When I was a kid I saw a guy on a bike in the park stare at me terrified so I ran away. Just last week biking through the park I saw myself and I tried to catch me but I ran away. Weird innit?

It could be that they got really high where all passangers and crew passed out. The plane then flew for a couple of hours at sea where it then crashed!?

Yeah but how could the altitude just go from 35,000 to suddenly 0?
