The guy is quite possibly one of the best 2nd half players Ive ever seen. He consistently comes through when we need him to. Even just in RECENT memory he has scored 35,25,29 (tonight) in the second half. Its really nothing for him to drop 16 in the 4th quarter and over 20-30 in the second half of games. He has rapidly increased his fg% to a very respectable 46% and has single handedly carried this team on his back. We seem to have a legitimate chance to have the best record in the nba (We are 2.5 games back of the top record in the NBA). With that being said, best player on the best team and the iltimate closer, move over durant/lebron? MVP! MVP! MVP!

The 3rd place MVP vote is wide open. Unfortunately for James, you can make a very strong case for Dwight as well - hasn't missed a game, better defensive player - which kind of hurts them both. Same with Blake/CP3. Same with LMA/Lil.

Up until these last couple of weeks, I thought Paul George was assured the 3rd place, but not anymore...

You should also consider KLove and Dragon (!!!) as the sole stars on average-to-good teams, bit if both Minny and PHX miss the playoffs, then maybe not.

There is still time left in the season to settle this. If PHX somehow makes the playoffs, I'd say Goran is the 3rd place. If not, and Ind finishes with best record in NBA, then it's George. If that doesn't happen either, you pick one of the stars on whoever finishes with better record among ROX/LaC...

Whoever ends up with the best record between lebron, durant and harden should win it, that's how good harden has been lately.

Give it to the man! The Beard is as talented as any one in the league and you can't convince me otherwise! If we swing the top record (Its actually possible!!) he should get it!

I'd have no problem with that, but the media is obsessed with the Durant-LeBron competition. And in fairness, both of those guys have carried their teams this season with their fellow All-Stars(Westbrick and Wade) missing significant time. Whereas the opposite is the case with Harden. He's missed several games while Dwight has suited up every night and the team has won nearly all of them.

    Toooo good man!!

James will not win it this year, but with this level of play and an adjusted team next year he will be right there in the discussion. Maybe 2 years until he gets past the LeBron Durant wall and takes their votes.

I think Harden has figured out that with Dwight there and with the improvement of guys like Parsons, he doesn't need to carry the load from start to finish. He trusts his teammates now and manages his game so he's got energy to turn it up in the second half.

As far as 3rd place, you can't overlook Blake Griffin. Dude's been balling out of his mind.
