Oh, yeah that's what I meant. Whedon has said Thanos is the final boss, so he'll likely be in Avengers 3. This will of course come after Ant Man, Cap 2 (and 3 since they've already brought the directors back on), Guardians 2?, Dr. Strange?, Thor 3? Another Iron Man movie? My thinking is if they were to do another Guardians movie there could be an Iron Man tie in, the current run of the Guardians comics with him sells out consistently. (with good reason, it's awesomeness) Spoiler As a side note, in the article I linked a few posts ago they mentioned the aliens (along with Korath the Pursuer -- Djimon Hounsou) that are accosting Star Lord at the beginning of the trailer are Sakaarans. Sakaar being the planet from Planet Hulk. I can't imagine them doing a Planet Hulk live action movie any time soon (there's the animated one), especially since Hulk is definitely a good guy right now in the movie universe but that would be awesome. Yeah we won't be seeing Thanos for awhile, they're going to keep collecting the infinity gems in the background. Should make for one hell of a movie, the Infinity Gauntlet Saga is really what first got me into comics. (I was attracted to a shiny gold foil cover, who knew?)
http://www.comicbookmovie.com/guardians_of_the_galaxy/news/?a=94813 just one excerpt, for the rest please clicky clicky. basically, this was their teaser trailer. I'm guessing the "full" trailer will be before Winter Soldier.
check out choke as for guardians of the galaxy, i have no idea what the story is or what the characters are, i'm speaking strictly on what i seen in the trailer, i have liked pretty much everything they have done since iron man, this trailer just took me off guard because i am not familiar with anything about the story
Thanks Obama http://www.comicsbulletin.com/columns/6538/the-guardians-of-the-galaxy-looks-amazing-and-i-wont-be-seeing-it/ The Guardians of the Galaxy Looks Amazing and I Won't Be Seeing It
There is a reason writers get very little and it is because they risk very little. It takes no capital to create a character. The person who risks the most should gain the most and rarely is that the writer. The publisher risks far more.

I love how passionate James Gunn is about all of this material. Really excited to see the finished product.
I thought about putting this in the Avengers 2 thread...but... James Gunn (director) stated that Guardians is definitely connected to Avengers 3. He also stated that Thanos will be in Guardians and will be motion captured. He called Thanos the "head of the snake". I was pretty certain that they were doing the Infinity Gauntlet saga (duh), now that is all but confirmed to me. I'm really excited about this because this is what really got me into comics. (other than the Xmen cartoons) http://www.comicbookmovie.com/fansites/MarvelFreshman/news/?a=97881 The helmet looks siiiiiiiick.
Helmet does look sick. I wonder how many people will be dressing as the GotG for Halloween. Or at least as Star Lord. And yeah I def expect Thanos to make his major appearance in Avengers 3. That will be plenty of time for the Infinity Stones(or whatever they want to call them in the movies) to be collected and for Thanos to obtain their powers. I'm really excited for this movie which surprises me since I knew a little bit about them from my comic knowledge but still surprised they got their own move, but Marvel seems to be doing it right. And as you mentioned above it would be interesting for Iron Man to team up with them. I was not a fan of Iron Man 2 or 3 and think Iron Man is most entertaining when he can play off of other superheroes as in the Avengers. I feel the same way about his comics. Sucks by himself but great when he does a team up
Same here, I knew nothing about Guardians until their recent run. I went and looked up a bit of their backstory (plus, again...the current run is outstanding) and I've been hooked ever since. I also have seen a few of James Gunn's movies and think he's incredibly underrated. Really excited to see what he's able to do with an actual comic property/Marvel's resources at this point. Guardians 2 featuring Iron man...damn don't get me started that sounds great. I was never a fan of the character particularly until RDJ made the original movie (like most), but I've always enjoyed him in the team ups etc. I think he's integral to Marvel, the character has never done too much for me with other people he's outstanding though.
What's with the Iron Man teaming up with them thing about? A real rumor or something from the story? It'd be cool, sure.
In the current incarnation of Guardians Iron Man left earth to join them. It's really interested to see his dynamic with the Guardians because on he's hot **** on earth, but the Guardians (mostly Rocket) kind of pick on him. He's just a guy with an armored suit to them and everyone else really. The reason it really raises eyebrows is this current iteration came about after the Guardians movie was already announced. (Or around that time anyway) I don't think it'll translate to much in the movie universe (other than the Guardians obviously being in avengers 3), but it is fun to muse about.
Looks like Amazon just added some possible substance to this rumor... Spoiler

Guardians of the Galaxy Spoiler Alert? Hmmm, perhaps he might show up in a posts credits sequence No way he'd be in the main movie though. More likely for GotG 2
Just saw this, that's awesome. I love his suit for Guardians. With that said I really doubt he'll be in the movie, like you said perhaps post credit. (I doubt that as well truly, but I wouldn't write it off completely) So fun stuff apparently Thanos has been cast but they're not saying who it is. The strong rumors are that Vin Diesel is him, I actually wouldn't have an issue with it. Apparently his voice acting is truly impressive. We all know he is the voice of Groot, but do you really bring someone of Vin Diesel's caliber (I'm sure there are people who don't like him, but he's grown on me) in to just say "I am Groot" 300 different ways (and some mo-cap of course)? I'm starting to think there is more to it. They also kicked out a lot of tidbits about Ant-Man, the rumored Dr. Strange movie (they're totally making it, no matter how many times they say it's being toyed with), Avengers 2, and other stuff. I don't have time to post it all, I'm sure someone will bring it up.
New trailer. http://comicbook.com/blog/2014/05/19/guardians-of-the-galaxy-trailer-2-officially-released-online/
