At first when I saw them jump I thought, "Meh, cows do that." But when a cow rubbed his cheeks on the grass, I just lost it there.
Awesome lol. Man, its ****ed up how animals are caged, mis fed, sick, never see day light, tortured and over worked.
I think couped up milk cows should have recess periods to stretch their legs and run around...and not just be standing still all day long. It should be law. It would also be nice if cows used primarily for milking got a reprieve from the slaughterhouse and were able to live out the rest of their lives grazing. The way I see it you got two sets of cows: - The free grazers who can move around until their time is up for slaughter. - The milk cows who are stuck in a stall all day long for days on end being milked by machines. The former were free to move around and graze until their time is up. The latter are in prison until they no longer produce milk and then they should be able to retire to the fields to move around and graze, i.e. retirement. If milk cows just go from milking straight to the slaughterhouse after they no longer are producing milk in sufficient quantities, then that just sucks and is cruel and unusual punishment imo. Is there a label that tells me the meat I'm eating came from a milk cow versus a free graze cow?
I have been around cattle my entire life and I can assure you that it takes far less to amuse a cow than what it takes to amuse you. An overwhelming majority of cattle are treated with the respect they deserve. A farmer/rancher has no reason to mishandle his livestock any more than you have a reason to mishandle your business. Doing so will cost him money, which is the reason people raise cattle.
In Japan cows have a pitcrew of masseuses, wait, masseurs? And get back rubs all day long while they chug beer. Serious. And when you pay to eat one it costs more than a beejer.
This entire video and thread is BS. Those cows were fat, happy and about to pop with calves. There is no way they were about to be processed. Any rancher would have bought them right up to have those calves.
Petersonfarmblog.WordPress.com I agree that all animals should be raised humanely and with kindness and respect. Take a minute and look at the side of the farmer/rancher and try to see the industry from a view point that is the way most farms in this country are .
The only thing that could make that vid better is Kate Upton jumping around with the cows, roaming the pasture naked with her udders showing, too. not sure why I thought of that.
I agree. Getting processed is the ultimate fate of all cattle, unless they are bought to be a pet and that is not going to happen very often.
