RT @Gil_Brandt Parcells met w Teddy Bridgewater for 4.5 hours in Fla. Very impressed w QB's humility, ftball knowledge, how well-spoken + secure he was that's a long talk If Tuna is impressed with you, that is something to take notice
Wow, well maybe if they stop the clock just a little after 30 yards. There is no doubt that they'll give him a very friendly time probably taking away a tenth or so from his real time which is why I'd expect a 4.6 something.
Do people talk about how well spoken Blake Bortles or Johnny Manziel are? Always comes off as racism to me when people feel the need to say a black guy is well spoken.
I think that's what he really runs, but the pro day will take a bit off that as usual. If he runs a 4.65 at pro day it means he really runs a 4.7 something so that's what I'm expecting. I also expect Clowney to run a 4.4 something at his pro day for the same reason unless he comes in weighing a lot more than he did at the combine.
My personal opinion, I have always commented to others (don't think on this board) on how well spoken Manziel is. For me it is based on his twitter, comes off as an idiot, then you here him in interviews/press confrence and comes off pretty much as well spoken and pretty inteligent.
I don't think Teddy's 40 time makes much of a difference. He doesn't depend on running the ball to have an impact on the game so it doesn't hurt him if he doesn't run a fast 40, and there isn't much tape out there to show if his 40 time in shorts in t-shirt translate to the football field so it may not help him if he runs a fast 40. Teddy is a west coast style quarterback. A team isn't going to draft Teddy and have him run a lot of read options if any. And with durability concerns _ why risk it. Johnny on the other hand... Different story. Teams may want to see him run a faster 40.
The night before Bortles ran at the combine, people were speculating whether he'd run 4.5 or "only" 4.6. People build these things up, to the point that they expect superhuman results. Just as a reminder, the fastest QB at the combine was Logan Thomas at 4.61. The 5 year average for QB's up through the 2013 combine was 4.87. For the same period, RB's averaged 4.59 and WR's 4.55. If Bridgewater comes in around 4.7, it'll be OK. Anything better than that is gravy. Anything better than about 4.6 would be outside of what is reasonable to expect. But even if he comes in with a 4..75, he's still a faster than average QB. Jordan Lynch, who was one hell of an NCAA running QB, and was 3rd in Heisman voting, clocked 4.76. If you look at Bridgewater's results in things like the broad jump, the three cone drill, and the 20 yard shuttle, he was near the top in most, but there were a number of QB's did better.

It's amazing & has me back to 100% on the TBW bandwagon.
What did Parcells need to meet with Bridgewater for? I can't think of a worse way to spend 4.5hrs of my life than sitting down with Bill Parcells. Maybe chilling with Bobby Knight?
I know exactly what you are saying and I have observed the same many times. However, it's a shame we get jaded by this. Maybe it's just the honest truth sometimes. Maybe Bridgewater is simply a well-spoken articulate guy for someone his age. Too bad if we are not allowed to say that for fear of being associated with the ignorant types who are surprised every time a young black man puts together a coherent sentence.
