3/7 vs IND W (overrated) 3/9 vs POR W (really overrated) 3/11 @ OKC W (There's no way they let the Thunder sweep them, but they are a damn good team) 3/13 @ CHI W (The Bulls are a solid team, but the Rockets should be fine) 3/16 @ MIA L (LeBron will probably go off, and Bosh wont suck that hard again)
If our starters are the only reliable players, probably 2-3. Wins against Portland and Chicago and possibly Miami and to a lesser extent Pacers. I think our starters, as a team, are better than those 4 teams. Miami's bench does scare me the most out of that group. If our bench finds its groove, at least 4-1. The only team that has a better bench than us, when our bench plays well, is OKC and its marginal. I would love to see us go 4-1. But can see 3-2 or 2-3.
Honestly, I want the wins but I think the way the team plays will be more important. I want to see each game played with intensity and come down to the final minutes. We most likely won't win them all so if we lose, I want to see us lose giving it our all. If we go 2-3 or (knock on wood) worst, I would be pretty disappointed but if we played great games in all of them, then I can look at this stretch as a passable. Absolutely do not want to see us getting blown out like we have been this season against OKC and the Pacers.
Pay back game Friday against the Pacers. The Pacers put a beat down on the Rockets in Indy. The Rockets will do the same on Friday. The next games will be tough but I will predict the Rockets run the table 5-0.
Wow what a tough 5 games but at least we get 2 at least days between games. Need to take care of business at home before you take care of business as guests.
Might as well have said next 6 games. The Jazz game at home a day after Heat game on the road will not be an easy win. 3-3 the next six won't make me upset.
This is a hell of a tough stretch .... glad they got a W against Miami at home & Orlando who they should have beaten. Indiana put a whoopin on the Rockets in the last meeting , they looked like the Rockets kryptonite in that game. This time its in Houston. They thoroughly trounced Indy in those preseason meetings ..... Damn that seems like forever ago. Portland is a solid squad , much like the Rockets in that they have a perimeter scorer & a strong post game. Who's supporting cast is better !??! This is a BIG Game with playoff ramifications ..... A W here goes a long way towards home court in round 1. OKC has trounced the Rockets twice tho both were on the second night of a back to back .... this will be the first time they get OKC with a day off but its a road game against the #1 seed ..... They should beat Chicago .... but there are no sure things in this league. Miami again , this time in their place. The Rockets definitely have an advantage in the paint .... I'd be satisfied with 3-2 with one of those W's coming against the Blazers .... happier than a punk in a peter patch with anything better. Indy - Portland - W OKC - Chicago - W Miami - Just give me one of those three ....
Gotta beat the pacers. They beat us so badly that I wrote a "Knee jerk" thread about how soft we were, I would love to take that back. Thunder game too is a big game, westbrook vs Beverly in okc has playoff atmosphere written all over it, then there is that bearded guy who hopefully can drop 40 on his old team. Beating the heat is also a must. Since the big 3 era we never beat the heat until the last game, the reason? Dwight Howard. He is a big man who plays inside, miami's weakness. 3 wins is the minimum ill be satisfied with.
Beat Portland + take one more, and I guarantee home court. POR is the pivotal game on the remaining schedule. It's a two-game swing vs the only other team that can crack the top four. We win, we get the tie-breaker, plus a full game on POR. Their remaining sched is very tough, it will require a Rockets' collapse to catch us.
I'd be thrilled with 3-2. Win both home games(beating Portland is a must), and then try to steal the one in Chicago. OKC and Miami will be tough, but the good news is no B2Bs in this 5-game stretch from hell.* *Well, unless you count the night after the Miami game where we have to come back home and face the Jazz. But at least it's against a crappy opponent.
might be a little off topic, but i was looking through some stats and found that the Rockets haven't lost a game when they have 2 days of rest before the game... So win against miami?
