Yep.. Lin is a huge liability right now, and he needs to swallow his pride and heal up.

Besides, I am legitimately curious as to what Canaan can do.

This is the NBA. No one is ever 100% fit. Players play injured all the time.

Lin's injury is no excuse for his jump in the air turn the ball over game after game or for his low IQ

What really concerns me is his mental fragility. He has been in the league for years, and he is familiar with the team. His performance is rapidly declining.
He needs to get physically and mentally healthy.
He should realize he doesn't need to be Linsanity. Just good basic basketball is needed from him.

In Lin's current slump, the most often heard criticism is his tendency to jump in the air and make a bad pass, often leading to TO and fast break points for the opponent.

Why is the coaching staff continuing to allow Lin to do such a thing? Why doesn't McHale just tell him flat out not to do that or will get benched immediately?

Yikes. Those numbers are horrendous. Dude is stinking up the joint.

Whether it's mental or physical. Lin needs to take a seat on the bench.

LOL exactly... He don't even know who is still on the team or not...... Anyways, how come Kyle Lowry is not getting any playing time? Coach McHale be keeping him on the bench.. Give him minutes over Lin.....

He hasn't been playing well but he's not hurting the team..right now..
we're winning, and the games we lost, he's not the only one..others played bad too..

I agree. If Lin's injury is truly the primary factor behind his poor play as of late, McHale might as well sit him and let him be prepared for the playoffs. Isaiah Canaan deserves to see more time anyways.

Jeremy isn't taking enough shots, or his type of shots. I thought he helped get the team back on track in the first half with 4 penetration drives into the lane which led to 3 assists and 2 FTs for Asik. That sort of helped right the ship after a bad 1st quarter, and his +/- speaks to that change in the flow of the game. But he only took 1 shot during that first stint on the floor. He needs to set a target of getting 10 shots up. When he shoots that many times, his % goes up and the team wins a higher % of the games. I also think that he is passing up some mid range shots because he wants to take the shots that he believes the coaching staff/Morey prefer instead of the ones that get him into rhythm. When he was scoring the ball well in early-mid February he was hitting a number of mid range shots. He should forget about what the coaches say they want and instead dictate to the defense what shots he will take and let the coaching staff decide whether those shots are a benefit or a detriment to the team.

As for playing hurt, it seems that he might be, but he has given no indication to the media. It would probably be the easier path to sit out a few games, but he seems to have committed to 'gutting' it out. That path may be harder physically and mentally but I think he will benefit in the long run, especially if he is able to heal whatever currently ails him (lower back probably). He hasn't been hurting the team because the team has been winning and his own +/- has been good in most of the games post-all star break.

I'm just waiting for the thread that says "Patrick Beverley is so inconsistent" or 'suck's' (though I personally dislike that type of insult to a professional athlete). Beverley had a terrible game on both ends of the floor. If you changed the name from Beverley to Lin in the box score, this board would have had another 5,000 posts angling for a new way to criticize Lin.

Wow! Who was that? That guy can play. Rockets should try acquiring him in the offseason. He would be an awesome 6th man or potential starter. Our backup right now sucks.
