Are you comparing them, because they are both lefthanders? I'm going on record that Jones does everything better than Harrington. Faster; has better handles; more shots; more moves; more range; better defender; better rebounder. Plus, wasn't Harrington 23 when he entered the league. Jones is only 22.
Hey, nothing against Othella (Othella "My Fella" as Worrell used to call him), but Jones is a much more skilled and athletic player, with a ceiling light years higher than Harrington ever attained to. It is really a strange comparison to even bring up. Harrington was a prototypical PF and undersized center (a depressingly poor man's Antonio Davis), where as Jones could probably play SF against most 3s in the NBA and can be pushed around at times by some of the stronger power forwards. It would be like comparing Parsons to Sam Mack. Completely different players, at different positions, with different aptitudes that are on entirely different levels. Please explain the comparison.
Othello Harrington led to Steve Francis. Steve Francis led to Yao Ming. Yao Ming > Jeremy Lin. Check mate.
Oooooh! Now I see. My bad man. Thanks for opening my eyes there. Haha. Sorry -- guess I deserve a "Why so serious" meme.
Jones gets underrated on this board. I understand that he is drafting off of being surrounded by talent (to some extent) But tonight was a good example of Jones being a young, physically developed player with a unique skill set. That cross over tonight was dirty and not many players can make that shot, block shots and rebound. His shooting stroke is looking better as well. Harrington was closer to Mo Taylor than TJ.

That reminds me of an old Chronicle piece on the Rockets team during that last Drexler, Barkley, Dream year. It was recounting some locker room banter, and Harrington was teasing Barkley on how out of shape he was, specifically his abs, and Barkley shot back, "How many rebounds have those abs of yours gotten."
Ughh - just got the chills hearing the words "Othella My Fella" again...quite possibly one of Bill's worst nicknames.
Harrington would be better for us right now. More consistent, tougher, better on the defensive glass. If JVG was coaching and we had Jones & Harrington on the roster - Harrington would start. But Jones will be better, probably as soon as next season and has an infinitely higher ceiling. Right now Jones' game is closer to Mo Taylor's than Harrington's.
