these guys are supreme athletes and can handle most things, like i said before, LeBron didn't have to play in the 4th quarter of a game that was a blowout, he chose to, so there are no excuses and i think also, Houston's record in back to backs is quite good people need to stop treating these men as if they are unfit like many regular people, they can handle it.
Lebron chose to play almost the whole 4th quarter against the Bobcats even though they were up 20 at that point because he wanted to get his 61 points. If you are out partying and drinking the night before an exam, no one will feel sorry for you if you fail the test.
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>Clearest sign that LeBron was spent tonight... He was 9-of-9 from 2 feet and in. He was 0-for-9 outside of that.</p>— Ethan J. I can understand Skip being all over Lebron's nuts but SAS? Come on, man! Says that it was just Lebron being tired over the Rockets defense. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/aiQIUEEG9lc?list=UUIIKPy27YWW5yhc0qvr4KnA" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Rockets have a 4 games in 5 nights situation and 2nd night of a back to back against OKC who had 2 days rest. We have a huge first half and a 17 2nd half for which he get trashed and clowned all over yet absolutely ZERO mention of the aforementioned circumstances in the media and elsewhere yet the Heat who blew out the Bobcats at HOME the night before and rested one of their star players for us and they're getting excuses all over the place.
They spent 6 minutes making an excuse on why the Heat lost. Rockets snap their 9 game winning streak on a back to back and not a peep. Love ESPN!
Were any of you guys complaining about ESPN and national media around during the Clutch City years? The 1994 NBA Finals might of well have been called the NEW YORK KNICKERBOCKERS SHOW the way it was covered in the national media, especially with Marv Albert, the Knicks home announcer, doing the play by play for NBC. Don't expect any shine from national media. Ever.
im not even talking about last nights game, but back to backs in general. And nobody is saying they cant handle it. I'm just saying it can effect them. Some more or less depending on the player. You don't think theres a difference from playing a back 2 back and flying from LA to NY, is no different than getting one day of rest? Yes, they are supreme athletes but they are not super human. I think anyone would benefit from one day rest as opposed to playing the next day. Obviously Im not going to change your opinion but Ive won lots of money betting against the team that was playing the second half of a back to back with a long flight
They also fail to mention how Wade was rested, and that Beasley had his best game of the season. Dwight had a bad back, and the Rockets have only been playing with this core for less than a season.
Checking in to add to the media Bias: Blackistone, one of the talking heads on Around the Horn, completely butchered the Rockets' record which was the basis for his argument that the Rockets arent ready. He was right that we can't beat Thunder and Clippers and Memphis but went on to say that we cant beat the Spurs and the freaking Warriors! I swear to gawd the Media is still infatuated with the Warriors!! Tony "the stat boy" Reali didn't even correct his egregious statements. BONUS: Steven A Smith thinks the Rockets are a 2nd round exit team. very possible. SAS went on to say that he Warriors can be a first round exit to a WCF team! Sweet infant baby Jesus they love the Warriors..
Screw the Heat. They were right there and could have won it or at least tied at the end. We made enough mistakes for them to take advantage of - letting them catch back up several times - they just didn't have the Eye of The Tiger last night.
According to PTI a back to back game is a schedule loss I guess. They used that word 3 times in describing the rockets heat game. Absolutely ****ing ridiculous. Now quite obviously the schedule plays a factor in certain games but that's the life of the NBA. The schedule helps you out some days and hurts you others. Never have I heard this much **** about a freaking back to back. I guess I shouldn't be surprised the media has for some odd reason decided to jump on this but considering how completely common place back to back games are, it's rather shocking that it's even mentioned at all. These guys are talking like the heat played the first back to back game in the NBA since the eighties.
