i have to admit i didn't have the balls to watch last night. i wanted to wait until morning and hope we pulled it off. the clips loss hurt so bad i don't think i could have watched another loss to a major team so i wimped out... extremely glad for the results though.
Sucks to be you, how you can you not watch us play a home game against the 2 time defending champs? At least go in to the game expecting to lose and be pleasantly surprised if we win.
The media didn't give us any passes when we lost to OKC and LAC on the 2nd half of a back to back -- at all. Wasn't even mentioned. But the whole narrative today in the media outside of Houston is how gassed poor Miami was. It's not surprising, but it is irritating.
Hey at least i'm honest. the clips game took a lot out of me and i was terrible to be around for about 2 days. i didn't want to put the wife through that again but from the look of the score it was definitely close.
Honestly I don't think people should use the previous game as an excuse for Lebron. Sure he played 41 minutes, but guess what it was his fault for that. The Heat had the game already won and there was no reason for Lebron to be out there other than to pad his stats and set records for himself.
And even if he was gassed, isn't that what you have the other 2 members of the Big 3 for? Isn't that the reason you rested D. Wade the night before? Bosh / Chalmers / Cole were pretty useless, but I guess they were totally spent from watching Bron go for 61. Poor things. :-/
Maybe you shouldn't watch anymore of the Rockets games when they play an elite team. You may have stumbled onto something here that needs to be fully examined. It's only crazy if it doesn't work right?
It always feels good to beat the best team in basketball. Take it for what its worth, the Rockets played a fully healthy Miami Heat Squad and beat them. Forget every other excuse...B2B, 61 from James from the previous night etc... As Yoyo mentioned...yesterday ref job was truly atrocious...several blant fouls across Howard's hands which werent called, and terrible flops by Heat players that were called. The fact that the Rockets despite having 18 TO resulting in 23 fastbreak points and having the Heat bench outscore ours, the Rockets won. Two players whose offensive output usually do not show up show up yet did...24 points from Beasley, and 19 points from Beverly; the Rockets scored a big win against the champs. The challenge comes at beating the heat 4 times. With the Rockets playing much better, I love our chances...
Unlike the others, we haven't proved ourselves yet in the playoffs to even consider them giving us any type of sympathy. Hopefully this playoff run will go deep this year and make them think otherwise. They shouldn't dare to go any higher about the Clippers. They lost in the first round to Memphis last year even with home court advantage. they're just like our team around 04-05 to 06-07 when we were stuck right there in the 4th and 5th seed with Dallas (04-05) and Utah (05-07). You can always thank the media to exaggerate premier markets with ****ty/unproven teams. Scrapping for so many useless topics and a big waste of time and resources in those areas. It irritates me as well.
Shouldn't have been as close as it was. Beasley hit nearly every 3 he took in the 4th. We had the game in tow but Harden and Jones missed free throws in the last minute and they hit a scrambling 3 after a bunch of lucky bounces to put them within 3. Harden for some inexplicable reason threw the ball full court which led to a turnover when the Heat were looking to trap and foul. Seemed like he panicked because of a possible 8 second violation even though he had 4 more seconds to cross half court. He should've just called a time out. You probably would've had a heart attack on that last sequence.
too many silly and forced turnovers... have no idea what harden was thinking on that near full court pass to howard at the end. We got lucky we caught heat on a tired night.
they played the BOBCATS the night before..ppl act like they are coming straight out of a 7 game series with the pacers....
yeah he put up 61 points but he didn't have to play the 4th quarter in that game, KD didn't play the 4th quarter last night, both were pretty much blowouts there have been many times where KD could have gotten 60 if he played the 4th quarter but he was just happy with getting the win. If LeBron complains about being tired, it is just his fault, he could have had extra rest in the previous nights game
We did a pretty good job on Lebron on the perimeter. Even though his J has improved we forced him to take tough fadeaways. Harden's D on him was great, Parsons didn't have the strength to stop him from going to the basket.
Why should we care so much about the national sports media's "narrative" or "respect"? Most of what they do is churn out formulaic content that they think people want to read or watch. A few guys like Zach Lowe actually dig into each team with some depth but most only pay noting more than surface attention to all but a few of the top teams or popular teams (if even that). Until the Rockets become the defending champion like Miami, they won't be covered like Miami.
