I don't doubt Rust will die, but if he does, the writers will make it worthwhile. They've done too good of a job to expect a failure of an ending.

That's nonsense. If the shows creator wanted it too be straightforward and not so heavily dissected he wouldnt have reached Stanley Kubrick-The Shining era heights with all the little hidden clues that may or may not be explained just like in the shining (I'm talking Harts painting matching the wall of the girl who survived the Reggie Ledoux meth lab, Harts daughters drawing of the spiral symbol painted on Dora Langs back, references too ghost, transference, etc)

I enjoy the show for what is but I also like these clues becoming noticeable in this thread.

I don't know if there will be a happy ending or not for the detectives.

Also I have some faith in the writer turning up another really good story for S.2. I sought out his first novel, Galveston and its really great. Finding the right casting is going to be the bigger challenge

I suppose that's possible, not sure it gives anything away as of yet though.

lol, yeah it's crazy how far he has come as an actor. He's been absolutely killing it lately with the roles he selects.

I was referring to the point I made about the picture with the constable or whatever, and everyone looking at him. And how he has a key right above his head. I didn't see anyone else point that out.

    Two completely different genres.

Writing? Yes it is better. I've read all the books and GRRM is good, but in order to stretch the story out there is a lot of useless stuff in there. TD is a masterpiece created for just 8 episodes.

    Entertainment value? Depends.
If your a bigger fantasy guy, you're going to like GOT more.

Don't expect any tricks in the finale. The writer/creator has come out and openly stated that he thinks those who try and pull one over on their audience are cheap. So, this won't be LOST or the 6th Sense - he'd never do that.

He also said it is interesting how far the conspiracies have gotten online. He never thought it would get to that point - and they weren't trying to leave hundreds of clues along the way that needed dissection.

TL;DR - Most fans are reading way too much into it.

I'm not saying there weren't clues left, but I think some of the stuff is so outlandish he was like WTF?

Here's the full Q&A, decide for yourselves.

This is the best write up on the show I've read thus far (spoilers obviously) -
