You claimed that Barbosa/Diaw were very good role players. Based on their previous production (their 04-05 seasons), that's an incorrect statement. If Marion was more valuable than Nash, how come the 03-04 Suns (the year before Nash joined them) had a record of 29-53? Taking a position and declaring that you won't be convinced otherwise is being close-minded.
Barbosa/Diaw were very good role players in 05-06. That is a correct statement. Doesn't matter what they did years prior because we're talking about Nash's second MVP. 03-04 Suns had a 21 year old, inferior version of Stoudemire and Marbury only played 34 games. I'm not saying Nash is a bad player, of course that team was going to improve by adding a top tier PG to replace 34 games of Marbury, Stoudemire hitting his stride, young quality players like Joe Johnson improving, and adding Quentin Richardson.
Interesting. Alright, I'll bow out here. It's pretty clear that you and I have different levels of analytic ability. You win.
I don't know why you're so confused. Your initial claim that Nash didn't have a supporting cast has been proven thoroughly wrong by me.
Even without this game, when you look at the stats, it isn't even close. LeBron is shooting 58% from the field, elite in every area, team is winning. There isn't any question really.
I think the question that should be asked when the voters make their MVP vote is who they would pick first if they were team captain in a pickup game and had the first pick. Durant has the best stats in the league this year, but if we are picking teams, I think I'd go with Lebron.
people are getting seduced by a 3 week period by LeBron compared to a full season of work by Durant, Durant still leads, remember when Durant had 12 games in a row of 30+ points per game
3 week period vs full season? Explain how LeBron has been for this full season and why you think Durant has been better? People want Durant to win, But if you look at the numbers, LeBron is in a league of his own. Dude is legit shooting close to 60% from the field. That is unheard of.
60 percent has been done before, LeBron started the season in good form then had a bit of a lull and now is on a decent run but Durant has pretty much been on a run all season long. Lebron shoots close to 60 percent because he takes many shots close to the rim like a centre, his athleticism allows him to get there. Apart from his great three point shooting today, he was starting to fade from distance after starting strong from there. Durant also hasn't really dropped up much at all, his current streak of 25 point games is awesome. For LeBron to catch up, he needs Durant to drop off
people also went crazy when the Heat beat the Thunder but they had selective memories and forgot the Thunder had beaten the Heat earlier
I think you're having selective memory now. People DID go crazy when the Thunder blew out the Heat. That was about the peak of the Durant MVP hype train. So what is it - don't like the Heat, don't like LeBron, or Kobe stan?
no i just dislike people just writing off Durant because LeBron has had a little stretch of dominant games, Durant is the MVP favourite and it really is his to lose
Voter fatigue will play a part. I think statistically they're about even this year overall and if neither had an MVP Id honestly lean slightly towards Bron after that game. However realistically I don't see how KD doesnt win unless Lebron keeps going gorillas like this. KD has been unreal most of the year and people want him to win.
