The bit was a little too long because she was pausing a lot, but i thought it did well and they did look interested. Apparently, they are really hungry because they spend so much time getting ready and then directly to doing interviews, red carpet, etc. Good job by Ellen. To be fair, that claim is simply hearsay. He was around gays all the time, and the movie showed that he was frustrated he couldn't have sex as being a heterosexual male with AIDs... so could he have reached out to fill that need with dudes? Anything is possible.
Fincher would work as well, but I'm not sure if Fincher would want him. He doesn't seem like a Fincher leading man. In all actuality, I think he'll get his first Oscar in a supporting role - like Christian Bale.

I watched about half of the show. I kept switching back but the show was rather boring. I found all the audience interaction to be difficult to watch and not very funny. Ellen is not my favorite host I guess. There also weren't any movies or actors that I was really rooting for to win anything. I usually enjoy watching the Academy Awards, but this year was a downer for me. I watched the Golden Globe Awards earlier this year and found it entertaining, so I don't know.
In the movie, (which is what the Academy is judging I believe) it appeared Ron Woodruff had sexual intercourse with females, so I don't think that would make the character Ron Woodruff a "homosexual with AIDS". My point remains valid.
