It's better for both parties. I expect Granger to hold back his best until it's really needed. I don't think McHale is better at managing that than Doc.

He'll need the structure and support to ninja a big playoff game or two and feed himself confidence that he can return less washed up than everyone thinks he's at right now...

Wasn't Granger basically a corpse in Indiana? His PER is in a laughable 10-11 range. Not scared by this signing at all.

Over the past two years the only thing lower than his FG% is the number of games he has played... Do not want!

Clippers are definitely a threat to win the West. Not sure if they can knock of Miami or Indiana though.

Grizz could easily be the 6 seed. 6/7/8/9 are all really close. Do not want!

I tend to agree, but he's probably better than Dudley (old tmac was too) so it could still be an upgrade.

I think they can win the West if someone knocks out the Spurs. And if they are healthy, the Clipps could beat Indy, who blew their wad too early. But they have no chance against the Heat IMO. Three peat is practically a lock barring a big injury. They are turning it on again and will probably finish with the best record in the nba.

I agree. It's pretty much Thunder or Clippers in the West barring any major injuries, but I don't think any of these teams have a chance against the Heat. Miami is going through the motions right now until the playoffs start. Even if they are the #2 seed, they can still take Indiana out once the playoffs start.

I'll start by saying that Granger was never the player that TMac was in his prime. But Tmac was just a aged big name at the end of the bench when he signed with Spurs. Granger is only 30 and is still recovering from injury. He lost his job to Paul George who essentially plays the same position so he was forced to fight for scraps in terms of opportunities. Doc Rivers will be utilizing him to shore up the defense and he will also get a lot of 3 point opportunities which is right down his alley. He didn't get any of those opportunities on the current Pacers system.

So I'd say it's more equivalent to the TMac on the Houston Rockets who was often injured, but still effective in spurts. He wasn't the player he was on the Raptors or Magic, but still an effective contributor.
