I decided to scan through this thread before taking the quiz to see if anyone mentioned "feeder". That's a huge indicator that someone is from Houston.
I didn't understand it at first when people outside of Houston would give me a blank stare when I used that word that way.
So apparently "feeder road" is the huge tip off to Houston. Is that true that we are really the only place that calls it a feeder?
I'm from Montana and had never heard it till I moved to Houston. Interesting taking this test for me. I spent the first 25 years of my life in Montana and the next 23 in Texas. It was hard trying to remember what we called things in Montana vs. what I had learned in Texas. Nevertheless, there were enough that I remembered where it pretty much nailed me too. Texas vs. Montana Feeder road vs. Frontage road Coke vs. Pop Y'all vs. You guys Rubbernecking vs. Lookie Lou ???? vs. Roly Poly ???? vs. Kitty Corner
Brownsville, Jackson, Birmingham. I guess I have had a diverse southern influence. But, I didn't see any question about feeder roads. Is there a randomizer on the questions, or did I miss something?
Yeah, this was passed around a lot on Facebook a couple of months ago. It was accurate for me, because like everyone else said, only Houston calls it a feeder road.
It got me pretty close - Austin/Fort Worth/Shreveport. Then I took it again and chose what I thought to be the most bizarre answers; apparently people in Milwaukee, Detroit and Buffalo talk quite strangely.
Pretty close. It gave me Reno, Santa Rosa, and Modesto. Didn't grow up in any of those, but grew up in Sacramento. So they basically triangulated it.
