You must be one of those "greatest artist/bands" ever types.... I can see now that your fandom for mediocrity is strong.... It's no wonder you defend someone like Beyoncé so ardently... She must be your Kanye West... Remind me to avoid your inevitable "Beyoncé is today's Maria Callas" thread.... Oh, damn... I may've inadvertently planted a seed...
I beg to differ. Beyonce and Jay-Z are already filthy rich. Jay-Z doesn't need to w**** his wife out to put more benjamins in his pocket. He does it (hell he probably encourages it), to up his cred. It is simply pathetic attention grabbing. They have the talent, names and money to do a lot of good... and they have the ear of the most powerful man in the world. What do they do? w**** themselves out to get YouTube views. The most powerful man in the free world didn't say that Natalie Portman was the perfect role model for his teenage daughters. Natalie Portman also didn't put her name on these eloquent lyrics... I have absolutely no problems with Beyonce and Jay-Z selling themselves for more cash. What I do have a problem with is my President saying that someone is a perfect role model, and then that person releasing a video and song as she did. One of the biggest problems with young girls in modern times continues to be the sexualization. Young girls are impressionable, and they'll see this video and think "If I want to land a man like Jay-Z and be as famous as Beyonce, this is what I've got to do." The Obama's continued swooning and endorsements of Jay-Z and Beyonce are what make this a story. Hanging with them isn't very Presidential. Beyonce even wrote a damn letter to the First Lady praising her for being a strong black woman she can look up to, and the Obamas politicized it by using it on their official YouTube. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/q1qpzHkA6tQ" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Good thing her daughter as Michelle Obama to look up to. TL,DR - You can be sexy without being a tramp.
Lol, y'all are hopeless. Of course you don't like her music, it's mostly made for women. Most guys don't like it. But Beyoncé's talent and beauty is undeniable. The name of this site should be "Complain" Fans. You mf's could find flaws in a pallet full of freshly printed $100 bills. Miserable.
You don't get it, black America doesn't care. They just want any role model to be in the news for non/thug reasons. They aren't going to literally look at everything Beyonce does and says because there hasn't really been competition. See my thread in the other forum about Obama's catering to African American celebrities. Also, alot of female pop stars like Beyonce were real busy touring or whatever growing up and didn't have any real relationships. This is her time to finally let loose and sell her image doing it... it's no different than your or my daughter turning 18 and going on spring break. It was just a delayed thing for some very career oriented people. Of course there are numerous instances of white celebrities who are idolized being far cheaper, but they don't play dumb when talking to the media.
It's not complicated. She's 32. Women are in their sexual peak at this time. She wants more than a ring; Jay-Z better take care of biz.
.......... What's the fuss all about? Illuminati say's you jump and bark, you jump and bark! ....... ....... .......
You heard the song, and saw that pic that ATW posted, right? Just making sure. And yes, a flaw with said pallet of freshly printed $100 bills is that it's not in my driveway. Mission accomplished.
The saddest thing about all of this is how many grown men actually give a damn if a 32 year old pop star has become more sexual or not.
I don't think it's consuming any of our lives, we're just casually talking about it on a basketball website.
Does anyone who is ok with this material have young girls 8-14 years old? I wonder what they think when they see stuff like this.
If I had a young girl 8-14 I probably wouldn't let her listen to songs about a woman sexing her husband, just like I wouldn't let them watch certain movies that weren't age appropriate. She's not singing about having a random hookup. She's singing about having sex with her husband. The guy she's freaking on in the videos and on-stage put a ring on her finger.
