Too bad the lakers have nothing of value that we need.. If pau was still the pau of 4 years ago id do asik plus lin for pau...but he sucks now and is really living up to the soft comments
Kobe stat line tonight - 4 for 14...0 for 5 from beyond the arc...5 turn overs... Gasol stat line tonight - 7 for 9, 16 pts, 10 rebounds ESPN LA is a F u c i n g Joke...LOL "Trade Gasol"....lol Everytime this team goes into the tank, Gasol becomes the Scapegoat...He had a year off last year as Dwight filled in...ESPN LA has cleverly shifted the narrative to "its gasol's fault".......Dwight comes back 4 months early from major back surgery and its "He need to play with a sense of urgency, there's no time to get healthy".....Kobe comes back and bricks and turns the ball over 100 times in 4 games...and its "Well its a process...it takes time..." hahahahaha...... Gasol is an idiot for sticking around this long...get on the first bus on out of LA ASAP...
More Pau-Lakers Drama: http://www.latimes.com/sports/laker...-gasol-20140226,0,5392271.story#axzz2ubCsbtHR Morey should chase Pau with the MLE in the offseason. Dude can still play and works well with Dwight.
He'd be a nice Omer replacement. Could play him as the backup 5 and occasionally go TT (and since Gasol can actuually hit a midrange shot, it might work in small bursts).
I don't understand the contract rules, but if he can and will take a huge pay cut, I think he would be a great addition at PF. His current contract is prohibitive.
He tweeted about this blog post today too, and it talks about him being open to just about anything. He just wants to win. Sounds like he's willing to take a pay cut to get there... http://paugasol.com/blog (you might have to change to English at the top right of the page)
Here's the actual post in case anyone wants to see it: Spoiler Wow, It sounds like the dude is undoubtedly gone. Even if Love wants to go to LA, he isn't coming this offseason. So next year's Lakers team could very well feature a nice rookie and a questionable Kobe. There is no way Pau sticks around for another rebuilding project. If I'm Morey, I make a hard push for him or risk giving so many contenders a significant championship piece: LAC, PDX, OKC, even DAL or SAS We can't afford to let this one get away
What was the plan for that offseason again? We would've traded K-mart, Scola, Dragic + Knicks 1st rounder for Gasol (wow that's a lot), signed Nene, and would've had a team of Lowry ??? Parsons Gasol Nene oddly enough, we would also have Jeremy Lin (Since the trade would've opened up 2 extra roster spots).
Who will be his next team? How much do you think he will get? I don't think he is a max player any longer.
Clearly Pau can't handle the pressure of playing under the LA lights.. Let's get it started Pau.... Sucks.... Pau.. sucks...Pau sucks!
Occasionally go TT !? Look at all the playoffs teams in the west & who they have at PF, he would start at PF if he came here.
If he's looking at taking a paycut to join a contender, his first choice would probably be the Clips - doesn't have to pack his bags and sends a nice F-U to the Lakers at the same time. I'd be all for taking him here at reduced dollars, especially if he accepts that he probably won't be a 30+ mpg starter anymore.
