Before the playoffs to get the loss out of the system.

This year Wichita St in Men's College Basketball is undefeated 29-0.

    This applies in all sports.

I mean...obviously not, but it's more or less inevitable in anything outside of College Football, in which case obviously you'd never want to lose.

Superstition is for losers. That's why undefeated teams lose, and why you never saw Jesus cross himself before taking the plate

yep. :) I was at the game last Saturday. Tie game in the final seconds and Lumberjack's Parker gets a steal and and dunk with .3 seconds left for the win.

    It's been fun.

That was the best finish to a game I've ever attended.

    Also, this reminds me, brah

Would you ever March down the aisle with an undefeated woman? Someone who no guy ever beat? discounting women with an 0-0 won / loss record.

Would that be madness to march down the aisle before them. March Madness?

    pressure bursts pipes

Most players play better when there is no pressure, that's why underdogs do well.

I don't consider Wichita State a good example because their undefeated record isn't that impressive so I'm sure they aren't under as much pressure since they likely won't even be the #1 overall seed. No one's calling them the greatest team ever, or even putting them in that convo.

If I were an ACC team and barely scraping wins to stay undefeated? Certainly, I might even root for 2 losses. The weight and pressure of winning the title going undefeated is a lot for a bunch of college players to handle, or any athlete, for that matter. Could manifest in the NCAA tournament at any time.

I root for the other team to lose.

And in the case of certain teams, injury.

a playoff game will be always carry some pressure, its so much different than a regular season game.

and maybe would be better if you win some games, before entering the playoffs, so you have momemtum rolling into the games that matter.

    food for thought

Larry Bird took an undefeated Indiana State team all the way to the Finals, to lose to Magic
