I don't know how many offensive rebounds the Clips got but let's just say a LOT! This coupled with turnovers and slumping Parsons and Jones killed us. Nobody could keep Jordan, Griffin Barnes etc. boxed out in the least - that was frustrating to watch.

You are wrong it helps a lot. I have over 120 people who post nothing worthwhile and have found that I can get through the entire game thread quicker and without having to read all the BS.

It has changed my Clutchfans experience. You still get all the good posts but none of the LOF or LOH stupid posts.

    I highly suggest it.

I wish Clutch would come up with some kind of system to help stop certain posters to not be able to post in game threads. It does bring down the reputation of this forum.

Also it is interesting to note that the vast majority of my ignored posters are not contributing members, so they in no way bring anything to Cluthcfans.

wish we could shoot ft's more consistently.. an extra 20+ pts a game sure could help a bit in swinging games into the win column.

I think it's pretty obvious the Rockets just cannot beat the Clippers. I would not want to face them in the playoffs because the Rockets would flat out lose that series. No doubt in my mind. We do not match up well with them. They are more aggressive and physical than we are. We may have hung with them in this game but we struggled. As a team, we struggle with turnovers and the Clips take advantage of that and pounce on us better than any other team we've faced. The Rockets just make so many mistakes when we play the Clippers...and it's because the Clippers force the action and cause those mistakes through their aggressive style.

Clippers fell back into the paint during pick n roll situations because harden would drive every time.rivers knew james wasn't going to take the easy ft line jumper

Lin is in a little funk right now no doubt, but he really isn't the problem.

I don't know what it is about the Clippers, but James always stinks it up against them.

There are things to be happy about, the Rockets could have won that game very easily had Parsons, Harden, and Jones showed up. Hamilton was an absolute steal for AB as well.

This team is missing a defensive minded power forward who can hit an open 18 footer. They need their own Udonis Haslem(Not the Haslem now obviously).

This Clippers team reminds me of the mid 90's Jazz squads.

    4th game in 5 days.

We are 0-3 and all of those games were horrible from the beginning.

The Rockets will have a very solid playoff roster once the lineups shorten.

    Bev/Lin
    Harden/Garcia
    Parsons/Hamilton(what an upgrade)
Jones/Smith will get PT against Clips in a playoff series
    Howard/Asik

Remember, that the Clippers are REALLY good at home and the game was very winnable late in the 4th. The Rockets have what it takes. I do wonder if it is a fluke that Harden just sucks it up against the Clippers every time the Rockets play them.

The Rockets can beat them in a series. Just have to give this team a little more time to gel.

Give the Clips some credit though, they would give OKC a tough series.

Well Rockets just don't match up well with the Clips - Plain and simple

The Clippers biggest strength is the PG and PF position with all star (super star?) caliber players in Paul and a vastly improved Griffin. The Rockets OTOH biggest weakness is the PG and PF position with two below average PG's in Bev and Lin and young PF's who still have lots to learn.

Down low they have DJ who is beasting and although Dwight is the far better player, DJ does a good job of minimizing that advantage Rockets have.

Our strength compared to Clippers is the wing players in Harden and Parsons and both had poor games last night and when that happens you ahve zero chance of beating the Clips.

I'm just happy with hung with them all the way to the end despite all those turnovers and back to back away from home.

Pretty solid assessment of the matchup. If Harden/Parsons (even one of them, really) show up last night, we win... I think that's why I don't feel as badly about this loss as I usually do. Odds of them both being that off on the same night again are pretty slim, IMO.

i understand chris paul is one to the top pg's in the league but i would really love for the rockets to end his smug little attitude. unfortunately we can't beat these guys for some reason or other whether it's scheduling or what. between the clips, mavs not sure which i dislike more...

The way you guys are talking all the stars have to be aligned correctly to beat the Clippers. That may work for one game but won't cut it for a series of games. The Clippers don't have to be as close to perfect to beat the Rockets as the Rockets have to be to beat the Clippers. Therein lies the problem imo.

Could anyone give me a quick recap? I did watch the 1st qtr but I just couldn't stay awake after the last few games.

    Where were we getting burned?

If what I read about 20+ TOs being true, Rockets need to focus on cutting those down especially against against good teams.

I mostly agree with the underlined, but I don't think stars must align for us to win. Last night was an anomaly in that we got virtually no production from the PG position, nothing positive from T. Jones, subpar production from Parsons/Harden, and a less-than-dominant Dwight. I just think the odds of that happening again (especially over the course of a 7-game series) are low. I hope so, anyway.

This is a humbling loss, but I really do see this team bouncing back huge against Detroit and the Pacers for that matter.

They played hard, and there is some cleaning up to do, but overall, I'm excited for the outcome. I think we're going to do great.

    Hamilton looks amazing btw.

I am not even trying to bash Lin but the dude throws some lazy / risky passes.

The Rockets didn't have to play perfect to beat the Clippers last night. They just needed one of Harden, Parsons, or Jones to play better than they did.

I think being the 4th game in 5 nights played a factor, and also the fact they just start out horribly against the Clippers each and every time.

That's because the Clippers didn't play very well either. Bad sign.

Twin towers lineup was weird to see again. Probably necessary to use against Memphis and Clippers, but the offense was out of whack. Asik throwing the backdoor pass to Lin was just... jaguarsfan.gif
