I haven´t followed Granger lately but - the Pacers didn`t get rid of him, they traded him for a pretty good young player in Turner. Turner might not be a star, but he is a guy that does everything well and is clutch. He can be really valueable to a contending team and I would`ve gladly welcomed him in Houston.

And Granger needed to get out of Indy. Ever since George showed his talents word on the street in Indy was, that they can`t play together. Now I don`t know if that is true, but since the spotlight is on George, Grangers play has been on the decline. He needed a change of scenery.

Getting Granger would be a low risk high reward move. And I´d rather have us make that move than one of our rivals...

See, this is part of the reason I feel like it's no longer worth it to share what you hear/know/see from legitimate sources.

It's not your doing XiKi, and it's fair to ask, but it is a reminder for me to just stop.

The simple answer is this: I do not work for the NBA. In fact, I'm pretty average. I'm a teacher as well as a fairly well-known coach in basketball circles in the Phoenix area. That's it.

Now, for the "people" I know: It all stems from friendships that have stemmed through networking. I hate to even say it because people perceive it as bragging or something inaccurate, but one of my good friends is an NBA player. I was his "suitemate" in college. From there, we continued our friendship. I'm also close to NeNe's family (wife's side), again, from long-term friendships that started years ago. When you're invited to Thanksgiving/Sunday/Holiday dinners, you tend to meet other guys in the league, sometimes an agent or another player/league-related employee.

You would be surprised what NBA players KNOW about trades that are on the table. Agents/Players talk constantly.

So to answer your question, I am not the media, but I have friendships with people directly involved in those conversations that we as fans love to hear about.

Obviously, I only get bits and pieces, but the info comes from a place of knowledge. It's not like I'm hanging out at the water cooler at work and hearing this stuff.

I hate that I wrote in a cryptic manner, but it's out of respect for the relationships I have. I stand by all of it, and I knew that we were taking from Denver, which I alluded to in one of those posts. I'm glad Jordan has turned out well so far :)

Remember that poster that heard about Stevie Franchise in the mall? It was such a simple thing he came across that came true, but I do remember the grief he got just for sharing it. What a cool event that must have been for him...but some of the backlash is a feeling I can relate to.

As for our involvement with Granger before he was bought out buy Philly, we were engaged in a 3-team deal with a few other players involved. Obviously, it didn't all go through, but things happen, right? At least Jordan Hamilton is that golden penny that is contributing. :p

Either way, I'm done. I'm not an "insider." I just have some cool friends that know more than I would know on a given day.

I love the Rockets and the fans, but it's just not worth it to be a guy that "shares" with good intentions, and when things don't go as they were discussed, other people can't keep it cool.

My apologies. It won't happen again.

    Go Rox!

after seeing how well J-Ham played last night, i will be ok without Granger.

I dont think he will care who can pay him the most. His goal is to get back on track and get a decent contract this season. I think he chooses the team that can give him the most opportunity, regardless of how much they can offer

    Cod,

I truly understand what you are saying and I understand how you feel... When you're around a group of guys and they gain your trust they will speak openly.

    Stay positive my friend...

Don't let these tools get you down, there are a large number of us that greatly appreciate the insider information we get and completely understand that anything can change in the NBA, what is set in stone one minute can completely change in the blink of the eye.

    Thanks for the information.

As bad as Granger played this season, he used to be an allstar level player who's only 30.

    Hey Codman,
Just about everyone who shares info on a board like this catches grief from attention-seeking trolls. It's sometimes infuriating to watch, particularly if you know someone personally and can vouch for their legitimacy. Please remember that there are MANY more here who do appreciate the efforts of those who get wind of a little info and pass it along.

Anyway, I understand if you stop sharing, but please know that your efforts are appreciated by many and derided only by a noisy few. Advance information is one of the best things about this board. Here's to hoping you don't let the less respectful members here rule the day.

If you have inside info that you're comfortable sharing; by all means, please continue to do so. It's much appreciated. :)

The detractors are jealous. Everybody wants to the guy that has the inside scoop or first sheds light on a breaking development. Obviously, most average joe's aren't privy to that sort of information. I think that's what fuels the skeptics.

Either way, don't let it get to ya and kee doing you're thing!

Granger getting minutes as a range 4 sounds good to me. Rockets are very inconsistent at PF these days so more 'bench punch' certainly would be nice.

I think he may go to the Bulls (to take Deng's spot), but I wouldn't be shocked if it's us or the Spurs. I don't see the Heat or Clippers getting him.

I would direct everyone reading this thread to the disgusting comments made by our own COACHBADLEE in the Jason Collins thread in the NBA dish. Please go check and see for yourself that this poster is a homophobic piece of crap and should be banned.

    Thanks
