Can we start giving Harden props for his good defense lately?

Nope. Can't give him props for an ugly defensive performance against the clippers tonight. Collison went off.

 

He should change his name to james haren cause he plays no d.

 

Glad you're excited at this opportunity to bash Harden, but Collison made some contested long two pointers. Honestly I was more disappointed in his offense tonight, just wasn't aggressive in the 4th quarter when we needed him to be.

That wide open layup was not Harden's fault. He got picked really badly, and Dwight was horrible in contesting that shot

 

There is no way that Harden can keep Collison in front of him.
At the same time, there is no way that Collison can guard Harden in the post.
Harden needs to deep post Collison to force the other team to adjust.
He failed so we lost.

Harden sucked on D tonight but I blame McHale not going small by putting Lin on Collision and let Harden play 3. Heck, even if McHale put Hamilton on Collision is better than Harden. Harden is slow but strong. I rather him guard PF at this time.

 

The post up problem was because they went to him in the damn Twin Tower lineup. You are clogging the paint with 3 players?

 

McHale fails in using common sense.

 

Yeah lets completely ignore the fact that Harden was being put in a pick and roll situation and Dwight Howard never bothered to help on his man. There isn't a single player in the NBA that can defend a pick and roll without a help defender doing his part. Not one.

 

Dwight was atrocious on PnR help this game.

 

You know what, i'll give Harden props for his defense when he stops trying to defend the smallest guys on the court.

What's funny is that Harden was interviewed going into halftime and he said the reason the Rockets got back into the game was b/c they stepped up their defense. Funny how he forgot that in the fourth.

And it's not Harden bashing but telling it like it is. He got major props for whooping up on the Kings and he should get criticized for putting up a goose egg in the fourth from the field and giving up shot after shot to Collison.

 

he played 43 minutes on a second nite of back to back.
fatigue was a major factor for his 6 turnovers and no D showing.
