Taiwan is a nice place to visit. Have lots of cultural sites to see, and progressive enough at the same time if you are not comfortable eating local food, you can find McD or KFC or starbucks reasonably easy.
Trust Lin is trusting Lin to represent Taiwan. Jeremy Lin is not only helping the Rockets but helping the city of Houston in promoting tourism and living in the city.
I think McDs and KFC there would be even worst than the ones here as they probably don't have to follow any of the regulations. I picture Taiwan dining like that of Singapore based on what I see from Zimmern and Bourdain travel shows. I'd probably go full vegetarian with only protein stuff. None of the stinky tofu ever or green eggs ever.
They been showing the Taiwan ad at the scorers table graphics in a few games. I'm so glad patrick Beverly is going to help houstonians visit Taiwan !
If you go to night markets where the stinky tofu are, then yes, who knows how regulated it is. But if you go to actual restaurants, then you should be safe. It's ironic considering US beef is considered unsafe in Taiwan and many restaurants promote their use of Australian beef.
Actually, they still have all the regulations, but the menu is catered to the local population. So KFC would have congee and McD would have soup etc. By green eggs I'm assuming you mean thousand year old eggs. TRY IT. But otherwise, there are plenty of good foods that aren't weird. Beef noodle soup, fried dumplings, hot pot, take your pick.
Cheers to you sir! <img src="http://defydesigns.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/guy_incognito_by_wvs1777-d3df4r1.jpg" WIDTH=500 HEIGHTH=500>
Yes, clearly the hype has died down - for the guy who ranked second in most Googled NBA players online to Lebron.
Sorry to reply to myself. But I just forgot to mention that "Jeremy Lin is a joke!!!!" thread just got a little more than half a million click to the Clutchfans.net website.
Not an expert, but lots of Taiwanese have funny sounding English names. I know a guy named Trester, that he liked better than "Chester", and a woman named Samanfar because she liked it better than "Samantha".
While you are at it can you please edit the Houston Rockets logo? Change the red R and hoop to a gold $ and hoop.
