I used to be a big fan of his game in the NOLA days. But overall he has only won 2 playoff series wins.

Not sure what team record and team accomplishment has to do with invidual player, basketball is a team sport. Paul is already 2nd best PG to ever play the game.

Nope he's not overrated he has played very well in the playoffs, however the pg position is the least impactful position in the nba

I don't think it's the least impactful position. I do believe that in order to win a championship, your best player should NOT be a PG, you have to have at least a competent PG but a team with championship aspirations can not rely on a PG.

    Magic Johnson
    Isiah Thomas
    Chauncey Billups
Tony Parker (if Ray Allen missed that shot)

    Umm...yeah.

I think very highly of Chris Paul as a player, even historically, but I can't see how you could put him above either of Magic, big O, or Stockton.

He is better player than Oscar and Stockton. Oscar won more than 50 games just once in first 9 years pre-Kareem, so team argument is dumb.

let me clarify, in the modern game, which athleticism runs supreme, having size and being able to play multiple positions is crucial. the nba game has changed since the magic days

More so than any sport, a single basketball player can accomplish a lot and paul just hasn't done that. This isn't football or baseball, in basketball one player can make that big of a difference.

    Paul is definitely overrated

    Agreed.

A key to a good defense is having a rim protector with three guys in the 2-4 spot that can interchange at all times. The NBA is becoming so PNR oriented, that switching on defense(ala Heat the last two titles) is important. If the Rockets can convince Granger to come to Houston, than this team will be title ready.

    Bev
    Harden
    Parsons
    Granger
    Howard

That is a sick defensive lineup in the overall scheme of things.

I highly doubt that. His teams many times never make it to the Play Offs.. I wouldn't rank Paul ahead of guys like John Stockton, Gary Peyton, Tony Parker, Steve Nash, and of course Magic Johnson. Second best? Not even close.

CP3 is obviously a top 5 player. If you don't believe that, feel free to be wrong.

it depends, if you have the leagues best superstar at any position, i would pick which positions allow for multiple matchups.
    so my opinion is

    SF
    PF/SG
C (due to defensive aspects no other Position can give you)
    PG

im not irrational or have some hatrid of the PG, but im just looking at it from a morey perspective, he would want versatile players if he could pick anyone

That Clippers team would be a 8th seed without CP3. Have you watched the guy play before?

If you limit your interpretations of NBA players by positions, you are bound to lose.

CP3 is not just a stereotypical ball distributor, he can have a meaningful impact every possession regardless of circumstances.

You can't deny his playmaking and leadership ability on BOTH sides of the court. The defense undoubtedly has to pay attention to him at all times and it is difficult to gameplan your way around him.

Of course he has had trouble in the playoffs, but is that truly indicative of HIS skillset?

me too. Now recently it seems like his game is more focused on drawing fouls and flopping and flailing all the time. It really takes away from him and the game itself.

I get that stars get calls but him flailing over the top is a major disappointment from the high potential he had.

From a dollars money making point of view I am not sure how the flopping can endear him to anyone. I feel like cp3 has surpassed derek fisher in the flopping dept. and that can never be a good thing. If cp3 could man up and stopping playing like a little b**** I would appreciate it. Cheating is cheating.
