Hopefully just a rumor... love their cheap CPU deals.

would be easy to trace the deed of trust and confirm the sale.

Amegy does have a large lease rolling at 5-pop and they are always looking for leverage. They also own land in the CBD that they tried to use as leverage before (similar idea of building a facility). Given some of the blocks available in the area - Galleria/Uptown, I'd still think this is only a play and that Shorenstein will acquiesce on rents. Would be a good site for a new tower though.

Always liked Microcenter, especially their open box deals. Got my MBP open boxed for $300 cheaper than regular and it had apple care for 3 years on it because the previous owner must have purchased it when he bought the laptop. It was in sublime condition too.

Its pointless nostalgia but I kind of like all of the old placards on the front windows of companies that no longer exist. It's like a weird homage to old tech companies. For example, they have a US Robotics placard which makes me think of my old 14.4k Modem from the early 90s.

    Microcenter was still open?

I figured it went the way of CompUSA and "Incredible universe" over a decade ago...

Always like Microcenter for their cheap deals, but my one complaint is price matching with them is like bargaining at a flea market.

Wasn't there one on Westheimer way way past Beltway? It's probably been gone for years. It was a huge kind of pc megamart back in the day, but this would have been 20 years ago. Wasn't it near a popular Chinese buffet with Koi fish out front?

If they change that Microcenter on 610/San Felipe to something I can actually use, like an HEB... that'd be a good day.

****, that would suck. Although it seems like Amazon just kicks their ass lately. Why get off my ass and drive to the store when I can get my 1TB 3.0 USB external hdd for 65 bucks free 2 day shipping?

    Hard to compete with that.

They are already building a new HEB center at the corner of Post Oak and San Felipe.
