He'd be getting minutes over TJones. I love Jones, but Granger is the better player.

I like the acquisition of Hamilton. Brooks wasn't playing and Canaan is ready to step up. We bought a stock. But he's just another stock. Get me a proven guy to compete for Hamilton's minutes, someone who has experienced playoff battles. Someone who wont disappear under pressure of big situations.

If Granger cant crack the rotation so be it. At least try. Assuming Hamilton will be anything worthwhile and we don't need to keep searching for a wing is insane.

GRANGER IS NOT A STRETCH 4. Talk about this team already getting beat on the boards it will be way worse with his unathletic butt on the floor

I have a sneaking suspicion he's ending up on the Spurs. He just seems like the kind of guy that would love playing for Popovich.

Someone get Dwight or harden to convince him to come. He would be the ultimate 6th man here.

Jones > Granger at the PF position. I seriously think people didnt see this guy physically struggle off the bench in indy. Gotta watch teams other than the rockets instead of using name recognition to measure players

The Spurs will most likely lock up Granger...

I haven't seen him play, but I heard that Granger is absolutely awful now. Like, beyond terrible.

Are you guys sure the Rockets would benefit from signing him?

I think Granger's toast physically. I also don't like the idea of getting a big (like Smith) and replace him with another below average player. Granger is definitely not the player he once was.

As soon as we label him done, Pop will turn him into a champion.

He's a gamble for sure at the moment, but a gamble you have to take, for the right price/contract of course. I think that like in most cases, it's all about the benjamins, and whichever teams dangles the most will eventually get him.

I cannot see why Philly would buyout Granger. Just to make him happy? They are already under the floor salary set by the CBA. If they arrange a buyout does he still count against their cap? If not they could be a ridiculous $16M under the minimum salary. Anybody know?

    I agree with you.

He MAYBE can get spot minutes at the 3 but he would primarily be a stretch 4.

Granger is about an inch shorter, but is almost 20 pounds heavier than Rashard Lewis... who was the most successful stretch 4 to play alongside Dwight Howard.

Granger also rebounds only .1 % less a game in total rebounds than Lewis does over his career averages.

However Granger is an overall better offensive player over his career averaging over 4PPG more than Rashard Lewis with more diverse offensive skills while still averaging the same career 38% from 3 point land as Lewis.

Is Granger a PF.....????... No... but is Melo, is Lebron, was Horry, was Delfino, was Rashard????

Granger and/or Parsons are perfectly capable of playing the 3/4 in the Rockets system in the new NBA era alongside a center like Dwight Howard and not giving up much if anything on the defensive end.

I do not know, but I do know there isn't a real penalty for missing the minimum salary. They'll just pay the difference to the players already on the roster.

    Wouldn't it cost them $14M?
