If McHale were to get canned(and let's at least give him a shot this postseason to prove himself), there are plenty of quality head coaches available out there who are way younger than Phil Jackson and have had success in the NBA.

Hopefully as the coach of the Lakers on the losing end of a beatdown.

    None.

This is just a terrible, terrible thread. One of the worst. Save this nonsense for the offseason. We have a game today so there's no need to talk about stupid stuff just for the sake of talking about something.

Phil Jackson will turn 70 years old next year.

Phil Jackson has no connection to the city of Houston.
Phil Jackson has no connection to the Rockets.
Phil Jackson has no connection to Daryl Morey.
Phil Jackson has no real connection to the use of advanced statistics
Phil Jackson doesn't run an offense similar to the one the Rockets use

I think there is a better chance that Red Auerbach is named the next Rockets coach. I know he is dead, but atleast he has a Celtics background, believed in a free flowing offense and was innovative.

This is by far one of the worst threads I have seen in a while.

Yes, Phil Jackson won because he had superstars, but superstars won championships and games consistently because they had him also. Not many coaches can consistently win championships with just superstars. Those players wont be who they are without someone like Phil. Analytics and Xs and Os can only get you so far, which seems to be why Morey hired Mchale. I think he is aware a coach needs to be a leader, a spiritual one, not a mere Xs and Os analytic tactician. As to whether Mchale is a good coach in that respect, i don't know. We'll see as time progresses i guess. Give him time to prove himself.

The only way Phil is coming here is if Les offers $20MM/yr

    Dumb, dumb post

What exactly does Phil having no connections to Houston have anything to do with him choosing to come here? He's 70, but he was gonna come back and coach the lakers just last year. His age is irrelevant. Then you follow up with a stupid comment about "Phil doesn't run a similar offense to what we use" Smh lol. ANYTIME A COACH COMES TO A NEW TEAM they implement their own system. I'm pretty sure we'll be open to running the triangle offense if Phil came here. I'm not sure where the hell your going with this:rolleyes:

Only way Phil comes to Houston is if Jeanie dumps him and Les has one really hot daughter to offer as well as a Pat Riley situation where he can be part owner and president of basketball situations.
