In episode 2, while Cohle and Marty are interviewing Fontenot's mother (the little girl who went missing without a trace), Cohle notices a photo frame of a blonde little girl, surrounded by five hooded individuals on horses.

The rape scene simulation also consisted of five male dolls surrounding one female doll.

And, throughout his police interview with the new detectives, Cohle made five figurines out of his beer cans.

I believe the killings are all connected to an occult of five individuals, with the Yellow King (tall man with facial scars) being the ringleader. I can place Tuttle, old, creepy man - LA State Policeman, Marty's father in law, and the Yellow King in the occult. However, if this was to hold true, I can't find enough hints of the fifth member. Perhaps the governor?

Just watched it. Yeah, I was a little off base.

So, we can figure Tuttle is involved.

You have to figure Marty's father in law. That's how his daughter gets involved.

I think that Commander of Marty and Rust's old police force (the other man in the room when Rust got suspended... not the guy that suspended him, but the other one).

The Yellow King (no clue who that could be).

IDK who the fifth one could be.

I have been working this theory as well, although I never thought Hart's father in law was involved, but now I think he may be, and not Hart himself.

This is post #330 from this thread.
