Parsons also reminds me of Brent Barry. They even look alike but maybe it's because all the white players look alike.
Scottie Pippen is the best comparison but he's nowhere near the scorer Scottie was? Well Pippen was best known for his defense and I'm pretty sure Parsons is even further off on defense. So that's like saying James Harden is like Michael Jordan but he is nowhere near on offense or defense. Maverick fans may as well make comparisons between Monta Ellis and Michael Jordan too.
Prime Brent Barry isn't a bad comparison even though he was more of a SG. In his best season he averaged 14.4 pts, 5 rebs, 5 asts, 1.8 stls and shot 50% FG, 42% from 3. Parsons has the higher ceiling although I'm not sure he will be as good of a natural shooter that Barry was.
Detlef Schremf also had a mean postgame too. Chandler can get there though Damn, mentioning those type names brings back those NBA Live days
I don't think many guys from the past really play the same way Parsons plays in terms of shot distribution. Parsons' shot chart is a product of Houston's layups+3s strategy. Guys in the past or even guys on most other teams with similar skills would likely take way more midrange Js. Parsons would almost always take the 3, fake the 3 and drive for the layup, or get layups and dunks in transition or off cuts. Parsons is very Morey player.
He's most like the worst color commentator in the league, who happens to love only one guy not on his team, Parsons, for just that reason (he fills the same role, and puts up almost the same stats and shooting chart as this guy). Let's see who knows who i'm talking about
You sound like Monta Ellis saying he's as good as Dwyane Wade, surprised you didn't say Matt Barnes got it all
And Detlef could handle the ball like Chandler. One could put some credence in the aforementioned Havlicek also.
